Our Mission: Providing the Best Education For All Students
MR. STEVENS READS!
Walworth's own, Mr. Stevens, has started a YouTube Channel!
Mr. Stevens, a paraprofessional who focuses on literacy and reading, works closely with students from JK through Eighth Grade. He is using his YouTube channel, Mr. Stevens Reads! to read stories to students and children of all ages. Ranging from picture books to chapter books to history books, Mr. Stevens wants to help bring the joy of reading directly to you! If any students or parents have any requests or suggestions for books to be read, they can message Mr. Stevens directly at josh.stevens@walworth.k12.wi.us
Hey, all you parents and students of grades 5-8 general and vocal music!!
I would really rather be teaching face to face, and I think you would prefer that also. But I am doing the best I can to get music out there for the students to work on. I have set up a google classroom, first time for me, and I am learning as I go. I have a class code for each grade level music classroom that was sent to the students about a month ago by school email. If you would like that code sent to you or your child again, please let me know. There are youtubes to watch, google slide presentations that I have created and google form assessments for the students to work on. There are warm ups that just take a couple minutes to do. They should do these several times a week. Some are silly, but beneficial, and some work on other areas of proper breathing and singing. The slide presentations are songs we would have been working on, had we been together. The assessments are the only way I have to know what is being learned. Please encourage your child to do these. I know some of the students are feeling overwhelmed. Some, on the other hand, are bored. I don't want to overwhelm, but sometimes doing music is a nice break and a good release. Each of you should be commended for all you are doing in these difficult times. Let's pray things get back to (a new) normal soon!

The 1,000 Point Club
Congratulations Ivan and Camila! This brother and sister duo earned entry into the 1,000 Point Club in Reading Counts. Students earn points by reading books and taking quizzes. Ivan, a fourth grader earned most of his points during first, second and third grade and finished up a few points this past fall. Camila, a second grader just finished earning her 1,000 points. Mrs. Wenzel dropped off the awards at their house. Everyone is very proud of their efforts! Keep reading!

MATH FUN WITH MRS. TRAVIS!
A group of first and second graders are working on a fun math activity with Mrs. Travis. The students are helping Mrs.Travis keep track of how many eggs she has. Every morning, Mrs. Travis emails the students how many eggs her chickens laid, and how many she used or sold. They are working on addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, telling time, counting money, etc. It's real math in everyday life. It's also a great way for the students to stay in touch with Mrs. Travis on a daily basis.
If you are a first or second grader and would like to join the fun activity, just send Mrs. Travis an email at eileen.travis@walworth.k12.wi.us.
