Longtime Superintendent Remembered for Steady Leadership
Dr. Don Stroh is being remembered today for his steady leadership in the district during tremendous years of growth. His family shared that he passed away overnight. During his 34 years, Millard grew from a class D to class A school district. When he began in 1955, Millard had an enrollment of 135 students, and his duties included teaching world geography, coaching all sports and being the district book keeper. By 1978, Millard was the third largest school district in the state, which it remains today. At his retirement in 1989, the district had expanded to 23 buildings and 15,722 students. Key accomplishments of Dr. Stroh’s tenure included managing the rapid growth of the district, building strong community support and ensuring excellence in education. Our thoughts are with Mona, his wife of 71 years, their three sons and extended family.

Millard Food Service Supports Community During Pandemic
The Board heard the Millard Public Schools food service report for the first half of the school year. As the pandemic continues, Millard and its food service partner, Sodexo, continue to serve students both in school and through curbside delivery. In total, 1,148,973 meals were served from August through December. Due to the pandemic, meals continue to be free to families, subsidized by the USDA through this school year or until available funds are depleted.
2020 Bond Construction Documents and Contracts Approved
The Board approved construction documents for renovations at Cather and Morton Elementary Schools and Millard North Middle School.
