The Heartbeat of the Wildcat

Seventh grade students in Mrs. Doppes’ class worked together to create a large display of the periodic table of elements. The students each had a selected element that they had to research and draft a paper about their findings. Students then created a one-page visual representation of their research which was placed on to a larger paper to form the periodic table. Research and visuals included facts about the specific elements including who discovered the element, the uses of the element, what the element bonds with, and the dangers of exposure to that element. Students studied their periodic tables in their notebooks and collaborated to determine the appropriate location of their element to ensure it was placed correctly on the overall display. Great work, Mrs. Doppes and seventh grade students!
Mr. Stahley’s Design and Modeling class began exploring a computer program to design and create paper clips. Students have been working hard and following instructions given by Mr. Stahley to complete the design process before sending their final product to the 3D printer for creation. Students are excited and proud of their work in this class.
Mrs.Vuyancih’s eighth grade class was writing an essay on the book The Outsiders. They first worked together to discuss how to make reasoning for their claim. The students then started working independently receiving help from Mrs. Vuyancih. This essay is the first one of the year, and Williamsburg Middle School students are off to a strong start!
Mrs. Nickolettes' CP English 9 class finished rough draft essays based on the short story "The Dangerous Game." The students worked with peers to edit their work before beginning their final draft. Students used collected notes from their notebook to build their writing. Classes used their time effectively to ensure their drafts were ready for publication.
