CHIPS Weekly Update

Hello CHIPS Families,

Fall has arrived, and with it, cooler weather and some much needed rain! This is the time of year when more families may use our car pickup/drop off line. When you are dropping off or picking up your child, please remember the following:

• Cars should shut engines off while waiting the the car pickup/drop off line as staff loads/unloads busses.
• Cars may not pass busses when their lights are flashing and/or their stop sign is out.
• If you are using the car line for drop off or pickup, please stay in your vehicle until a staff member comes to assist you.

Thanks for all you do to help keep out drop off and pickup times running safely and efficiently!

Please see the attached flyer regarding the PTO Basket Raffle. This is the PTO's biggest fundraiser of the year, and funds many enrichments for our students! You can help by donating items to the raffle baskets, and purchasing raffle tickets. Thank you for your continued support of our PTO and our students!

The CHIPS PTO will be holding a Basket Raffle and Bake Sale during the CHIPS Open House on November 17th. Both the raffle and bake sale are fundraisers that help the PTO bring enrichments to CHIPS for our students. The PTO is looking for volunteers to donate baked goods, set up, clean up, sell tickets and baked goods during Open House. If you are interested in helping out, please see the sign up link below. Please note that children are not permitted to help while parents are volunteering. Thank you for your support!

• November 11- No School - Veteran's Day

• November 17- CHIPS Open House 5:30-7:00 p.m. More information to come!

The holidays are coming! Chelmsford Public Schools collaborates with a number of organizations that provide additional food for Thanksgiving and gifts/gift cards for the winter holidays. We know its early (!) but program applications start soon.

We have all been so impressed to see every child taking the time to wash their hands!

Please enjoy sharing Henry the Hand's fun colorful printouts and activities, along with an age-appropriate story explaining 'why I can't go to school today' with your family. Thank you for encouraging these daily healthy habits.

We have a supply of rapid COVID test kits available for families. If you need a COVID test kit, please contact the CHIPS main office. Test kits must be picked up by parents. We cannot send them home in backpacks.

Please use our absence line (978-251-5188 Option 0) to report your child's absence from school and be sure to state the reason for the absence (illness, appointment, travel, etc).

Nurse Kristen can be reached by calling the CHIPS main number (978-251-5188) and selecting option 3.

Our CHIPS Little Free Library- such a fun way to help foster a love of reading in our preschoolers! Feel free to stop by with your child and borrow a book! Please remember to return the book when you are finished:) If you have books at home that you would like to donate, please put them in the Little Library or send them into CHIPS with your child. Thank you!!
