Message From The Principal
Hornet Families,
This upcoming week, there is no school tomorrow, Monday, February 12th as it is a teacher workday. Students will return to school on Tuesday, February 13th. We are encouraging everyone to wear the color red or pink to show their love for Bailey Elementary as a school spirit day on Valentines Day, which is Wednesday, February 14th. Please remember that no large objects, such as stuffed animals or balloons that may be gifted on Valentine's Day are permitted on the school bus. Also, this week our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will complete the middle of the year benchmark assessments for Reading, Math, and Science (5th grade only). It is important for students to be present each day and to try their best on the assessments as this will guide our teacher's instruction moving forward.
We are excited to announce that we will hold our first READ-A-THON at Bailey Elementary School beginning on February 26th. A Read-A-Thon is an opportunity for our students and staff to earn money just by reading! Students can earn prizes, including an opportunity to be entered into a drawing for a trip to Disney World!
Make sure to stay tuned to our Weekly Newsletter, phone calls, school website, and Facebook as we ramp up to have the best READ-A-THON ever!
Our overall school goal is to raise $15,000 that will be used to update our Media Center. Businesses are welcome to make donations, as well as family members all over the world!
We can't wait for a successful fundraiser - as we read to help raise money for our school Media Center!
Please read through the newsletter below for important information!
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Thank you for your continued support,
Dr. Allen M. Wilson
Principal
