Tuesday, November 7, is a scheduled Independent Learning Day for teacher planning/staff development. Students will learn from home by completing assignments at their own pace. Further information will be provided over the next couple of days.

GLOBE continues its Peace Week celebrations. Campus schedules can be viewed here: Upper Campus | Lower Campus. CREST t-shirts are being sent home today for your student(s) to wear on Friday.

Don't forget to send in food for our Peace Week Food Drive

GLOBE have partnered with Atlanta Community Food Bank for a food drive. This week, students can drop donations into containers that are located around campus. You can donate any items on the list during Peace Week, or donate virtually here. View ACFB's most needed items, here.

There's just over a week to go until GLOBE Trot 2023 on Friday, November 10. Thank you to everyone that has donated so far! We have raised over $76K and we have reached 44% of school participation.

There is still plenty of time to fundraise and qualify to win prizes. You can find your student’s fundraising page here. Help us reach our goal by donating to your student’s fundraising page (online, or bring to school). Don’t forget to share the page link with family, friends and community members to help us reach our goal!

Students in Mr Brantley's 8th grade Leadership and Communication class are busy producing a series of videos with school spirit in mind, called "Finding Ollie". As the episodes unfold, all of Upper Campus' incredible students will get a chance to share their light.

These students are doing a phenomenal job. The videos are fun and engaging. They give an insight into daily campus life and highlight the sense of community we have here at GLOBE. This week, in episode 2, they focus on Peace Week. You can meet the crew in their inaugural video, here. We will feature more videos as they are released. Watch this space!

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Lower Campus this morning for the coffee talk about bullying, hosted by our school counselors. A recording of the presentation will be available shortly.

On Friday, October 27, the 8th grade Band students had the opportunity to attend Lakeside High School Band’s 8th grade Night. In honor of Halloween, the LHS Marching Band was in costume, playing at the football game versus Druid Hills High School.

By now, your student should have brought home their Square 1 Art packet. The order deadline is November 14. Square 1 Art is a school fundraiser that allows students to create gifts and keepsakes with their own art on it. A portion of the proceeds return to The GLOBE Academy for use in the Art department. Visit the Square 1 Art website to view your child's artwork and order.

Peace Week volunteers needed

GLOBE is currently celebrating Peace Week. The school counselors have planned fun and meaningful activities for Peace Week, and they need volunteers to help make it happen. Please check out the SignupGenius to see how you can help. We still need volunteers to pick up full donation barrels from Upper Campus and deliver to the donation site. A truck or van is required.

Spirit Night at Salaryman Toco Hills

Please join us on Thursday, November 16, for our Spirit Night at Salaryman Toco Hills (2941 N Druid Hills Rd, Ste B, Atlanta, GA 30329). Lost and Found: Please label your items!

Parent volunteers return labeled items to the owner's classroom. If your items are not labeled, they may never make it back home. Please take a moment to find a labeling solution that will work for you. Here are some ideas to get you started: Avery No-Iron Kids Clothing Labels, Sharpie Fabric Marker, and Mabel's Labels (customizable labels and stamps, dishwasher and laundry safe. Athletics would like to send a BIG thank you to the parents that helped organize, prepare and set up for the Volleyball and Ultimate Frisbee banquets.

We honored the hard work of our athletes with an end of season celebration. All athletes received a certificate and medal to commemorate the season. This was the first of many more to come for the Ultimate team. Success is not always measured by wins and losses - smiles count too!
