On Monday, December 2nd WHS will host our annual Roo Expo. This event showcases all that WHS has to offer our students and kicks off registration for the 2020-2021 school year. Students and parents are invited to attend this event from 5:00-7:00 pm and talk directly to teachers and sponsors about the many academic and extracurricular opportunities available to our students.

In addition, we will host break-out sessions at 5:00, 5:30 and 6:00 on the following topics.

• Dual Credit and Collegiate Academy
• Pre-AP/AP Course offerings and expectations
• Endorsements and 4 year plans

Registration for the 2020-2021 School Year begins in January! Counselors will be working with WHS students on the following schedule to get them enrolled for next year’s courses. Course selection sheets will be available soon.

The Texas Public Safety Association (TPSA) club is made up of like minded students from NGC and WHS who desire a future in Law or the Public Safety profession. Students meet after school, twice a month, on Tuesdays from 4:00pm - 5:00pm. Its never to late to join and be part of this growing group of future professionals. At the main campus, come by K210 and see Mrs. Hedrick. At NGC, come by and see Mr. Hegre.

The Lady Roos get win number 4 defeating Paschal 46-22. The JV won 45-23, and the Freshman won 33-14 to complete the sweep.

Concert and Indoor season are starting up for the year. Make sure to come out for all of our concerts and competition performances. You can find our schedules on Roobands.com For those that ordered Poinsettias, delivery is expected to be the December 10th.

The WHS Band directors would like to thank Weatherford ISD, the Administration, and our community for all their support of our fine arts. We would also like again, thank the Band parents and boosters who strive to support us with all the needs of a growing program. Please have a safe and relaxing Thanksgiving Break, and we will see you in December for our Holiday concerts.

The Weatherford HS softball team will hold the 2nd annual Wiffle Ball Fundraising tournament on Saturday, December 7th at the MAC. Entry fee is $10 per player, minimum of 5 players per team, double elimination format. There will be prizes for the top teams, as well as a Homerun Derby held during the tournament, entry fee $5 per person. Games will begin at 8 am, please see Coach Lemons or any Weatherford softball player for details and to enter your team.

Clara Chestnut earned 3rd Chair at Pre Area All State Choir Auditions tonight at WHS and advanced to the final round of All State Choir Auditions in January.

The WHS LIbrary will NOT require students to have a pass before or after school to work in the library. This was causing some students to be turned away that needed to complete assignments. We are open at 7:45am and close at 4:15pm, unless we have a meeting scheduled. We are also open during lunches on M,W, F- 2nd lunch, and T,TH 1st lunch. Students should know they are always welcome in the library to do work!

TheDream.US

TheDream.US is the nation's largest college access and success program for immigrant youth with DACA or TPS status, or that meet TheDream.US immigration eligibility criteria. It opened its new round of scholarship applications for the 2020-21 academic year on November 1, 2019. TheDream.US has provided more than 6,000 scholarships to students who are attending one of its more than 75 partner colleges and universities in 15 states and Washington, D.C.

The National Scholarship, an up-to-$33,000 scholarship for high school or first-time college students and community college graduates, closes February 27, 2020. The Opportunity Scholarship, an up-to-$80,000 scholarship for first-time college students, closes January 30, 2020.
