FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL - THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 8th
FIRST WEEK OF SCHOOL
Greetings Belleville Families, and welcome to the FIRST WEEK OF SCHOOL! We're excited about having all our Tigers back in the building, and we're looking forward to having the best year yet!
We would like to once again WELCOME our NEW Belleville High School families, and encourage you and your student to get involved to maximize your experience and overall outcomes. We believe that this will be a GREAT YEAR as we work together toward Purpose, Excellence, and ACHIEVEMENT!

Important Dates and Upcoming Events:
- Thursday, September 8th: FIRST DAY of the 2022-2023 School Year for Students
Wednesday, September 14th: TIGERPALOOZA! Open House and Activities Night, 5:30pm - 7:30pm
Week of October 9th - 15th: Homecoming Spirit Week
October 14th: Homecoming Game, 7:00pm vs Franklin HS
October 15th: Homecoming Dance, BHS Commons
Belleville High School Open House will be held Wednesday, September 14 from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm. Weather permitting we will be located in the staff parking lot. Please plan on parking in the athletic lot or student/football lot. You will be able to meet all the staff and administrators as well learn about the various clubs and organizations that are available to students. FOOD TRUCKS will be available, and a great time will be had by all. DON'T MISS IT!
STUDENT HANDBOOK AND DRESS CODE
An excellent educational experience is always undergirded by a safe and orderly environment. Please take the time to review the Student Handbook, which includes the BHS Student Dress Code. For a quick review of items to avoid, please click the link for COMMON DRESS CODE VIOLATIONS.
In particular, students will not be wearing:
- Hoods
- Crop Tops
- Ski Masks
- or any bedwear or grooming attire, including pajamas or pajama bottoms, hair scarves or durags.

LUNCH PRICES
Please be aware that the lunch prices for this year have increased by $0.50, so:
- Secondary lunch will be $3.50
- All breakfast will be $1.75
Please plan accordingly. There ARE options for Free or Reduced price lunches. Schools will have paper copies of the Free and Reduced lunch application. Once the online link is active it will be updated HERE.
AVOIDING TRAFFIC GRIDLOCK...
Beginning of the year TRAFFIC GRIDLOCK, can be avoided by attending to the following:
- Leave yourself enough time to arrive early - work with driving students to do the same!
- Arrange for TRANSPORTATION for your student right away. This must be done YEARLY and can take up to 2 WEEKS to be finalized. CLICK HERE for the transportation request form.
- Drop off and Pick up are ONLY at the BACK of the Building (see graphic below).
- Follow all posted signs and staff direction.

Football BLACKOUT Game - 1st Home Game is THIS Friday, September 9th
WEAR ALL BLACK for the First Home Game of this Football Season. The Tigers face Livonia Churchill this Friday, September 9th @ 7:00pm. Let's GO TIGERS!!
Thursday, September 8th is NEON NIGHT for our Girls Volleyball Team. Come on out and support our Lady Tigers!

TEEN NIGHT @ THE BELLEVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY
Great News! The Belleville Public Library has announced their Summer Reading Program, including prizes for Teens/Youth ages 12-18. You can visit their site at https://www.belleville.lib.mi.us/ for more information, and for other community resources.

This week's update includes information on the Girls Who Code program - an excellent opportunity for students who would like exposure in high value STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) fields.
