We are off to a great start in 2021 at Briarwood. This week, we begin our second semester and we are welcoming approximately 35 students back to face to face instructions. We are also welcoming new students to virtual classrooms from across the district. All of the staff have been preparing lessons and schedules to meet the needs of all students during the second semester. We are eager to move forward in the second semester.

With more students coming into the school, it has been necessary to add to our teaching staff. This helps to keep our classroom sizes a little bit lower for safety reasons. This week we welcome Ms. Olivia Matthews- Resource Room-virtual, Ms. Valerie Austin- 1st, grade.

In addition to adding staff, we also said farewell to Mr. Kris Galzyk He retired on January 15th and we thank him for his 25 years of service to Warren Woods Public Schools. We are welcoming Mr. Jerry Clark as our new physical education teacher. Mr. Clark is getting to know all of the students and is going to work on building students skill and stamina in physical education.

Macomb County Testing

The Macomb Food Program will be distributing non-perishable items to families in Macomb County facing food insecurity on January 21. Visit the Max Thompson Family Resource Center in Warren between 10 a.m. and Noon to pick up food items and frozen meats, as well as dairy and produce (if available). This is a drive-up distribution event. Residents are asked to remain in their vehicle while items are loaded into their trunks. This is a first-come first-serve event while supplies last. Recipients will be asked to provide their signature upon receipt of food items; there are no other eligibility requirements.

Meals for virtual students are offered daily from 11 AM- 1PM at the Warren Woods Education Center. Please check the WW Education Center for the daily lunch offerings.
