This week's story, The Boy Who Cried Wolf, is a cute and funny retell of a timeless fable about a boy who was not honest to his neighbors and the importance of always telling the truth! This story a great example of our new PBIS theme of trust and the importance of why being honest is the best life policy!

This Monday, 3rd Graders were so excited to take a journey back in time as they visited Plimoth-Pawtuxet. They got to see firsthand what life was like in the Plimoth colony. They played colonial games, talked to colonists, saw a musket demonstration, and learned about the structure of colonial homes. In the Wampanoag village, they experienced life inside a longhouse and watched a demonstration of how trees were burned out to make a canoe!

3rd Graders in Mrs. Fairbank’s Class learning how to use spring scales to measure the weight of objects in kilograms and grams!

On Tuesday, second graders visited the Scituate Town Library. Students were able to browse the library and then they walked back to school! It was a beautiful day for a walk!

On Wednesday members of our Student Government presented to each grade during lunches about Veterans. Hopefully next year we can bring back our annual Veterans Day Luncheon.

Our very own Maria Gibson won the 4th grade girls Turkey Trot! Congratulations to Maria and to all of our 4th and 5th graders who participated in Wednesday's race!

Our turkey was stuffed to the feathers with the generous donations that the fourth and fifth grade Turkey Trot participants from across the district brought to the race on Wednesday. Thank you for helping to support the Scituate Food Pantry!

Hatherly School will show our support for World Diabetes Day by wearing blue on Monday, November 15th. World Diabetes Day is celebrated on November 14th because that is the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, who discovered insulin with Charles Best in 1922. If your child is not feeling well, please connect with our school nurse Jessica Jones at 781-545-8780 or jjones@scit.org . If they are experiencing possible COVID-19 symptoms, they must have a negative PCR or molecular test before returning to school. Antigen tests will not be accepted for symptomatic individuals. Students should also have an improvement in symptoms and be fever free for 24 hours, without the use of fever reducing medication such as tylenol or ibuprofen, before returning to school.
