1st graders said goodbye to their 6th grade buddies as they left for Walden West Science Camp!
Hiking and singing in the amphitheater at Walden West
LETTER FROM YOUR PRINCIPAL
Hello Bobcats Families!
Hello Bobcat Families!
It has been a big week for our 6th graders. They headed off to Walden West Science Camp Monday and will return tomorrow. Their first grade buddies came out to say goodbye to them and wave, it was such a sweet scene. I was lucky enough to get to join them today for a few hours, we sang songs, went on a hike and I even got to hold a snake with one of the trail groups.
Our 1st Trimester STEM challenge is coming up soon. We have changed the date to Thursday, Oct 13th at lunchtime. I know we will see some amazing inventions! See the flyer for more details about this challenge.
Tonight through Tuesday, you may get a call from the LAEF phone-a-thon if you have not donated already. If you do not want to receive the call, please donate any amount you can! Thanks you from every teacher and student!
We also have a new club called Bobcats on the Run on Tuesdays and Wednesdays run by our fabulous teachers Ms. Won and Ms. Johnson. Please see their note below for more information about this club for students at lunch.
Happy almost October everyone!
LAEF Donation Campaign
Consider making a donation ato LAEF (Los Altos Educational Foundation). LAEF provide valuable programs and teachers to Santa Rita and the LASD community. These essential funds support all Santa Rita students, teachers, staff, and families in impactful ways. Your contributions to LAEF direct donation drives are a meaningful way to support a well-rounded educational experience. Every little bit counts - thank you!
Stay Bobcat Strong!

Bobcats on the Run!
Have you heard about the new hot club at Santa Rita? It’s called Bobcats on the Run! Bobcats on the Run is a walk, jog, and run club that meets on Tuesdays and Wednesdays during lunch. On Tuesdays, students will be engaged in agility exercises, such as hurdles
and speed ladders to improve muscle strength and reduce injuries. On Wednesdays, students will be participating in an endurance activity (Striders) where students will be tasked with the challenge of walking, jogging, or running for 30 minutes straight.
Student who want to participate will have a flipped lunch. This means they will meet Ms. Won and Ms. Johnson at the lower fields from 12:00-12:30, and then they will eat lunch as a club from 12:30-12:45.
This club is an eleven week commitment in preparation for racing the
Palo Alto 5k on December 17th. Once a student attends eight times, they will be considered an official Bobcats on the Run member and they will receive this breathtaking t-shirt!English Learners and New Families Meeting

This week is our Fall Fundraiser!
You’re likely to get a call or text from a parent volunteer encouraging you to donate to LAEF. For over 40 years, generous financial support from parents like you has enabled LAEF to raise over $54M for our schools, so our kids can get a much higher-quality education than public funding can provide. Let’s do it again this year!
Learn More and Donate or Pledge to LAEF today.
Find out which teachers we fund and see a financial chart with exactly how your donation will be spent. Giving to LAEF is the only way for parents to help fund LASD teaching staff in our district.
