Easton School Newsletter (Volume 2, Edition 34)
Week of October 2 - 6
We Are Easton
Superintendent Information
Dear Jaguar Families,
A big "Thank You" to those of you who were able to attend our Open House last week or attended one of our athletic events during the week or the football game on Saturday.
We had a great turn out at both Open House and the volleyball game to cheer on the Jags. Despite what they might say(especially teenagers), kids really do like it when family and friends attend their events and support them . Thank You!
Another big "Thank You" to the Tutino family for loaning our Outdoor Education class eight(8) shovels to help their native plant landscaping project. Mrs. Allenbaugh also wanted me to remind everyone that the class is still accepting bags or garden soil for the plantings as they arrive this week.
Our Jag Pre-School opens this week and there is space available. Jag Pre-School is available at no cost to all upper county families and runs from 8:30-11:30 am Tuesday to Thursday. If you have any questions, please contact Easton School at 509-656-2317
In this weeks newsletter, I have included several draft designs for our new playground(s). The graphics are just the start of the process and will be refined over time. Also please ignore the classroom graphics in the designs as it must just part of the program. I instructed the design companies to add equipment that kids like the most (their professional opinions), give us the best "bang for the buck", and will withstand the test of time given our location and climate. There is some amazing playground equipment out there now!
Another busy week at Easton, please review the week below. As a reminder, Easton School Early Release will begins this week on Friday October 6th, with students dismissed at 1:00pm.
If you know of a community member, or for that matter, anyone who would be interested in keeping up to date with Easton School, please share this newsletter with them and have them click "Subscribe to Easton" button down the very end of the newsletter so we can add another Jag to the family.
Go Jags!

Cold Flu Season
Fall is quickly approaching and so is cold and flu season! Please help us keep our school community healthy by keeping your child at home when they are not feeling well. Keep your student home if they are experiencing any of the symptoms below:
Fever or chills
Shortness of breath
Wet or productive cough
Fatigue
Muscle or body aches
Headache
Sore throat
Runny nose
Nausea or vomiting
Diarrhea
New loss of taste of smell
While in school, your student can help slow the spread of germs by covering their nose or mouth when coughing and sneezing, and washing hands frequently with soap and water.
Please note that COVID no longer has a quarantine period. Students may return to school as soon as they are feeling better and have been vomit/diarrhea-free and fever-free (without the use of medication) for at least 24 hours. Please tell the school if they are going to be absent due to illness.
If you have additional questions, please email School Nurse, Rachel Henderson at hendersonr@easton.wednet.edu
