Superintendent's Update
Hello Cadet families!
Love is in the air with Valentine’s Day on Wednesday! Everywhere you go, you see pink and red hearts and flowers. Connally ISD had the fantastic opportunity to share the “Cadet Love” with our local senior citizens last Friday at our Valentine’s Luncheon. Approximately 100 senior community members joined us for lunch at the CISD administration building. They enjoyed Italian cuisine prepared by our Culinary Cadet Club. While they ate, they were serenaded by some of our three and four-year-old daycare students, blessed with a dance performance by two of our junior high students, heard a poetry reading, learned about robotics and 3-D printing, and so much more. They all left the luncheon with a Valentine's card created by our primary students, a box of chocolates, and a lifetime senior citizen pass that will get them into all Cadet home events and performances. Connecting with this community group and building a bridge to continue our communication was terrific. We look forward to doing this again as we continue to develop this relationship and get them involved with our schools.
Tonight, our Lady Cadet basketball team will take on Marble Falls Mustangs in the first round of the playoffs. They will play in Georgetown. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:15 at Eastview High School in Georgetown, Texas. Tickets must be purchased online. Please use this link to purchase your tickets: https://www.georgetownisd.org/Page/22488
Senior citizen, THSCA, TABC, and District 23 passes will be accepted at the gate.
The Cadet basketball team will play their last district game on Tuesday at Salado. They will enter the playoffs as the second-place team for District 23-AAAA. Once their playoff information is available, we will share it on social media and the CISD website.
There are several events in the athletic realm this week.
The Lady Cadet softball team will play at home on Tuesday against Cameron. This will be a varsity game only. The ladies will take on Rosebud Lott on Friday with the home-field advantage.
The Cadet baseball teams will play in Groesbeck on Tuesday evening. They will play at home against the Hillsboro Eagles on Friday.
The Cadet boys varsity soccer team will take on Marlin tomorrow night. The boys' and girls’ soccer teams will play at Cameron on Friday.

Shepherd’s Heart will be in the district on Wednesday afternoon from 3:30 to 4:30 in the multipurpose parking lot. They will be distributing food to all who are in attendance. There is no income verification required to receive the free food.
Tonight is the regularly scheduled February school board meeting. The meeting will begin at 6:30 in the administration building. The deadline to file intention to run for the school board is 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 16, 2024. Applications can be picked up at the Connally ISD Administration building at 200 Cadet Way, Waco, TX 76705.
Please take a moment to review our Instructional Calendar for the 2023-2024 school year. You will see that all CISD campuses are closed on this Friday. Our students will return to campus on Monday, February 19 for instruction.
Happy Valentine’s Day, and have a wonderful week!
