MST Weekly Update
February 23, 2024

Good afternoon to all of our MST family members.
Nest week is February Vacation Week. It is a great opportunity for our students to take some time to relax, and also some time to get caught up in any classes that are falling behind in. Once we come back from this break, it always seems like the rest of the school year goes by very quickly. We want to make sure that all of our students are able to earn competency by the end of the year in June, especially those who are planning to graduate on June 15th.
MST wishes all of our students a safe vacation week!
American Heart Challenge is Coming
Get ready for the American Heart Association’s American Heart Challenge, kicking off on March 6th, 2024! Please register today, under our school, at http://www2.heart.org/goto/ManchesterSchoolofTechHS.
By participating in the American Heart Challenge students can raise awareness and funds for congenital heart defects, mental well-being, nutrition security, CPR training and more as we work to end heart disease and stroke. Along the way students will meet some of the kids they’re helping while learning about mind and body health.
Once you've registered, complete Finn’s Mission! As a family you can help to create a community of lifesavers by learning the lifesaving steps of Hands-Only CPR. It’s quick, easy, and fun! Learn more about Finn and his special challenge HERE.
Graduation Is Coming Quickly
Four months from now, the Class of 2024 will have graduated from MST...if they are successful in completing their work. Every year, we have seniors who fall behind and struggle to catch up in time to attend the graduation ceremony. In order to attend the graduation ceremony, a student must have successfully completed all of their graduation requirements. If they do not, they will have the opportunity to finish over the summer and will receive a diploma when done.
Seniors who ae behind now must get caught up soon. The upcoming vacation is a great time to work on getting caught up. Teachers are available after school to help students who need assistance. A requirement for keeping late arrival or early release is that a student is up to date in all classes required for graduation. The privilege is being revoked from students until they are back on track. This is not meant as a punishment, we want all of our potential graduates at the ceremony on June 15th and will do everything that it takes to get them there. They have to want it and have to get the work done, however.
