Weekly Update

August 18th, 2023
Dear Students and Families,
Welcome to the 2023 – 2024 school year. I hope you’ve been enjoying a wonderful summer in Maine and are ready for another year at Brunswick High School.
Over the summer, the staff and I have been busy preparing for your arrival. In addition to extensive cleaning of the building, we have also trimmed trees and spruced up the grounds; the building and campus look great!
For your planning purposes, August 28th is a full day for 9th grade students only, with lunch provided. Students will spend this initial day engaged in a variety of orientation activities including getting-to-know-you games, introductions to their classes and teachers, meetings with support staff and administrators and a variety of other fun activities. Please click here for the 9th grade orientation day schedule. On August 29th, all students (9th – 12th) will be in session for the full day. Upon arrival to school, all students will report to their FLEX teacher.
The Off-Campus Learning Center(O.C.L.C.) is located at Coffin School. For students who attend the Off-Campus Learning Center, please click here for important information. For any questions regarding the Center, please e-mail Ms. Larson and Mr. Routhier prior to the start of school.
The Brunswick High School late bus service will begin on Monday, September 18. The bus will depart B.H.S. promptly at 3:45 p.m. every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday when school is in session. To ride the late bus, students will need to secure a blue late bus pass from their teacher or the main office. For any questions regarding the late bus, please contact the Transportation Department at 319-1904.
We are delighted to announce our new staff members: Daniel Chapman, Science Teacher; Kaili Philllips, Athletic Administrator; Maria Rier, Modern Language Teacher; and Kelly Welch; Science Teacher. When your paths cross, please help us welcome them to B.H.S.
For new students and parents, please spend some time exploring the B.H.S. website. It is full of useful information, dates, names, forms, policies, and procedures covering a vast range of topics and questions you may have. Additionally, you will receive our school’s newsletter bi-monthly. It is filled with important information and pictures of daily student life at B.H.S. You can also sign up to receive our daily morning announcements. Please click here for directions. If you do not find specific information or answers to your questions on our website, in our newsletters, or daily announcements, please contact the main office reception.
As principal, I look forward to working with you to maintain a safe and enriching learning environment for all students. Until we have the pleasure of meeting, welcome to Brunswick High School.
Sincerely,
Troy P. Henninger
Principal
