Create Section Aliases
In Frontline Education SIS, a section alias is an alternative name or label that can be assigned to a particular section of a course or class. This is useful for organizing or clarifying sections, especially when dealing with multiple classes, periods, or grade levels. Teachers may use section aliases to provide a more meaningful or easily identifiable name for a section, making it easier to navigate within the system.
For example, instead of using a generic section name like "Math - Period 1," a teacher might use an alias like "Honors Algebra - Period 1." It doesn’t change the actual course but offers a clearer way to identify that section in the gradebook or other parts of the SIS.
To create or update a section alias, complete the following items:
- In the Gradebook Course/Section tab, select the course/section in the dropdown.
- In the Section Alias: text box, enter your alternative name or label for the section.
- Click Save Options
You will now be able to see the Section Alias listed when entering grades or attendance.
