Grandparents Day is September 12th! In an effort to keep our kiddos and families healthy and due to visitor limitations at this time, we are going to delay our Grandparents Day celebration. We'll keep you posted!

A free breakfast is offered to all students each day from 7:15-7:40 AM at SGE. If you would like your student to eat breakfast at school, please help him/her arrive to school with enough time to eat. Students arriving to school after the 7:40 bell will be sent directly to their classrooms.

Mark your calendars! Burnet's homecoming game is just around the corner. This is a fun week in Burnet, and you're sure to see SPIRIT, PRIDE, and HONOR all around town!

Students are welcome to wear homecoming garters and mums to school on Friday, September 24th. Please know in advance, however, if the mum/garter becomes cumbersome or distracting for the student, teachers may ask students to remove it until the end of the day.

Shady Grove Elementary is focusing on creating closer, more connected and inclusive classrooms. Start with Hello Week is the kickoff to teaching students the skills they need to create a culture of inclusion and connectedness while encouraging them to reach out to and include others. We have activities planned for Start with Hello week which is Sept 20-24th.

We are proud to report...

... the PreK/Kindergarten line is wrapping up dismissal by around 3:43 each day.

...the 1st/2nd grade line is wrapping up dismissal by around 3:35 each day.

And our times continue to improve! That's 30+ minutes faster than the first day of school dismissal time! We appreciate your patience and cooperation as our team of students, parents, and teachers have found our dismissal groove!

An important dismissal reminder...

The front office closes from 3:00pm until 3:45 each day. As we work to dismiss our students in a timely and orderly fashion, we must keep the front entry/exit doors uncrowded. As a result, parents needing to check their students out must do so before 3:00pm or after the car line is finished. Parent walk-ups to check students out is not permitted during this time.

How do I request a change in transportation?

• Submit an email on the same day as the transportation change request by 1:30pm to: sge-transportation@burnetcisd.net
• Include the following details in the email:

-student's full name

-student's grade level

-student's homeroom teacher

-the transportation change you want made for today (bus to car, car to bus, etc)

In order to ensure a smooth dismissal process for all students, requests made after 1:30pm will not be processed. Notes, phone calls, text messages and emails sent to any other email will not be processed.
