Varsity Girls Bowling
On Monday, February 7, the Dryden girls bowling team had a meet in New Baltimore versus Merritt Academy. Unfortunately, the girls lost their meet to Merritt Academy, although they worked very hard to earn the points they did. Our highest scoring bowler was Raeshell Richardson, who bowled a 125 in both of her matches. Our second highest bowler was Joanna Livingston, who bowled a 142 in her first match and a 97 in her second match. Great job, girls!
On Wednesday, February 9, the Dryden girls bowling team competed against Merritt Academy at Almont Hideaway Lanes. Unfortunately, the girls lost again to Merritt Academy, although the girls all worked very hard to give their opponents a fight. Our highest bowler was Joanna Livingston, who bowled a 124 in her first match and a 143 in her second match. Our second highest bowler was Mikayla Fleming, who bowled a 105 in her first match and a 110 in her second match. The girls’ next bowling meet is on Monday, February 21 at Hideaway Lanes versus Memphis.
Varsity Boys Bowling
Last Wednesday, the Varsity Boys bowling team bowled and defeated Merritt Academy 28 to 2. Sean Finnigan had a high game of 144, but Michael Hickmott came in a close second with a total score of 137. The boys bowl next on the 21st at home against Memphis.
Junior Varsity Girls Basketball
Dryden's Junior Varsity Girls Basketball team beat Mayville on February 7, 61-11. Scorers were
Isabella Weier, 19; Kierstyn Stankevich, 13; Keira Miller, 14; Jalynn Delmotte, 9; Makenzie Theobald, 3; Aubrey Ledford, 2; and Jade Insley, 1.
Varsity Girls Basketball

Last week, the Varsity Girls Basketball team faced off and won! They played Mayville, Genessee, and Genessee Christian. For the Mayville game, the girls won with a score of 32-30. The scorers are Jessica Peters with 10 points, Lauren Abromaitis with 6, Jenna Peters with 6, Rilynn Lindsay with 4, Keira Miller with 3, Ava DeVlaminck with 2, and Olivia Stickler with 1 point. They fought hard and it paid off!
The same thing happened with the Genessee game. The final score was 47-44 with Dryden in the lead. The top scorers were Jessica Peters with an amazing 29 points, Jenna Peters with 9, Ashley Hickmott with 4, Sophia Peter with 2, Rilynn Lindsay with 2, and Lauren Abromaitis with 1 point. Great job ladies, and good luck this week!
Junior Varsity Boys Basketball
On Tuesday, February 8, the Junior Varsity Boys Basketball went up against Mayville. They won 53-39! The leading scorers were Jaylin Taylor, 15 points; Hunter Hughes, 12 points; and Daniel Kreiner, 9 points. Magnificent job boys, keep up the great work!

In a league contest on February 8, Dryden beat Mayville 64-30. Putting up points for the Cardinals were Merrick Maris, 31; Jacob Burgess, 16; Dylan Ledford, 9; Zack Lemke, Tommy Giles, Hunter Hughes, and Sonny Coscione each with 2.
On Friday, February 11th, the boys traveled to Genesee. They ended up losing by 10, 65-55. Let's look at the scorers for the Cardinals. Merrick Maris led the boys with 19 points, followed by Dylan Ledford with 15 points. Jacob Burgess has 12 points. Sonny Coscione had 5 points. Jason Blasius and Zack Lemke had 2 points each. After the game, Coach DelCampo had words on the boy's performance. He said, “Give credit to Genesee - they played hard and played well. We lost our patience offensively and that really hurt us." The boy's next game will be at North Huron. Good luck to the boys! Go Cardinals!
