Important Capital Campaign Update
Dear CKS Families,
Christ the King Parish and School are in the final year of Our Giving Tree Capital Campaign. This is an exciting time because most of the intensive behind-the-scenes projects aimed at repairing our infrastructure have been funded or completed and we are now entering a phase of the campaign that will be much more visible because it includes improving and renovating our school's front entrance and Hehman Hall.
The plan is to create a space that allows for positive personal identification of all visitors before granting them access. The school offices and reception area will move to the front of the original split level entrance. This move will allow us to relocate the preschool classrooms from the church nursery and parish life center into the main school building. Hehman Hall will also undergo a renovation that will include an investment the sound and lighting system thereby enhancing school performances and creating a more welcoming atmosphere for the many events we hold there.
The capital campaign set a goal of raising $850,000 for the school entrance project and we have reached that goal! We are so thankful for the enthusiasm created when an anonymous parent presented us with a matching challenge that raised over $72,000 in a matter of weeks. The CKS PTO also sponsored a $10,000 match early on that raised awareness about the importance of working together to achieve this goal. Our parish and school community have come together to make a lasting impact for current and future generations of students.
We are currently working with an architect and the diocesan building commission to develop comprehensive plans that will enhance the safety of our students and faculty and create the most conducive learning environment. We are committed to funding this project up front and will work in phases as necessary until the project is fully funded. We invite you to be a part of reshaping the future of Christ the King School by making a pledge to the capital campaign.
