A Message from Mrs. Caudill
I am excited to welcome you to the start of another school year! The Amerman staff is so excited to welcome our students back to school on September 5. Our focus has always been to educate and to inspire a lifelong joy for learning. We know our students will Aspire, Achieve and Amaze! We will continue to focus on our students social and emotional health first to build classroom connections and communities. We know that without those positive connections we will never be able to achieve academic excellence.
Please be assured we are here to help you and your child. We are here to love them and make them feel safe. Together we can do anything. Don't worry, we got this!
Stay well,
Devon Caudill

Anna Albulov, 3rd Grade ALPS - Hello! My name is Anna Albulov, and I am so excited to be teaching third grade ALPS here at Amerman. I live in Canton with my husband John, who is a computer engineer, and our 22-month-old son James. I love to read, and Harry Potter is my favorite series!
Keith Gall, 5th Grade ALPS - Mr. Gall has been a teacher for over twenty years. He uses algebra on his daily walks and in appreciating Jared Goff-thrown touchdowns. Among all else, Mr. Gall views citizenship through the eyes of Aristotle & Cicero.
Margaret McNair, ESL Teacher - Mrs. McNair has been teaching in Northville since 2015. She high school French for 9 years and is now shifting to elementary ESL! She is excited to be a part of the Winchester team. She has a 13-year-old daughter; loves to travel, play volleyball, and hang out at the pool in the summer. They are also big Marvel & Star Wars fans! Lately, she has been trying to learn Spanish and pick up pickleball.
Alison Tomasaitis, Kindergarten - Hi Bobcat families! My name is Alison Tomasaitis and I am thrilled to be joining the Amerman team as the new Kindergarten teacher this year! I live in Northville with my husband Kevin and our two kiddos Brody and Ava. Looking forward to meeting you next week!

BUS TRANSPORTATION
Bus assignments are now available in Parent Connection. You can view those assignments at https://sisweb.resa.net/Northville/ParentPortal
If your child is new to ALPS and will be taking the shuttle from their homeschool to and from Amerman, they are automatically signed up to do so, there is nothing you need to do. Please make sure your child is at their homeschool by 8:40am at the location designated by each individual school. Our shuttles do their best to be back at the homeschools no later than 3:45. If they are running late, regular school buses are held until the shuttle arrives.

Using the Loop (Car Drop-off)
For anyone who might be using the loop for the first time, here are a few tips to follow:
Be sure that your child/ren knows to meet you at the Loop.
Display your name card in an upright position until your child/ren are safely in your car. (We need to know your names to call for students and to help our rotating teachers get the right student to the right car.)
Display your name BOLDLY! (Whether cloudy or sunny, it is easier to read the name when it is BIG and BOLD)
Keep your car in park until your child/ren are safely in your car.
Stay in your car while the Loop is open. (Our teachers and staff need to stay focused on the vehicles and students. Please do not walk up to teachers and staff in the Loop. It is safer for you to go to the office for assistance.)
The dismissal loop will be closed at 3:55, if you have not entered the loop by 3:55 and the gym doors are closed you will have to come to the office to collect your child/ren.
We know the beginning of year adds to longer loop lines - we will be flexible in the loop closure the first week of school.
Here are a few other reminders to help us keep the loop moving:
- Form TWO lanes as you enter the parking lot, to keep cars off 8 Mile Rd.
- MERGE alternating lanes when you approach unloading/loading zone.
- Pull ALL THE WAY forward to the farthest available volunteer.
- Try to stay BUMPER TO BUMPER in the loop, don’t leave space between cars

Teacher Assignments
I know students (and parents) are anxiously awaiting the posting of who they have for a teacher this school-year in the parent portal. The work of placing students in classes usually happens in the spring and then is double checked and finalized in August. It is a complex process that requires us to take into account a variety of factors. Teacher assignments are now viewable in the parent portal.

Medication Drop Off
If you have medication to drop off to school please do so before the start of school. We prefer you drop off medication between 8:00am - 12:00pm. however, the office is open daily from 8:00am - 3:00pm. The office will be open during open house so you can drop off then as well. Please be sure you have all forms completed with physician and parent signatures. Place the form and medication in one bag that is clearly labeled with your child’s name. We cannot take medication without a completed form.

Suggested School Supplies
If you are interested on getting a jump on school supply shopping, please see the link below for our suggested school supplies. The supply lists are simply suggestions of helpful items and are strictly voluntary, as we provide the necessary supplies and materials for your child’s successful school experience. If you do not want to order your supplies through the school supply kits program, you can view the list by clicking the grade level link.

Annual Online Information Confirmation
Every year, all families (including those who recently enrolled) are required to fill out the digital Annual Registration for each student. Families may complete these forms through MiStar ParentConnection. After logging in to your Parent Portal account, click the RED Annual Registration at the top right of your screen. Then select Register Now to the far right of your student’s name to begin the process.
Through this process you will be asked to update your student’s emergency contact information, home address and health information, review our technology use policy and student handbooks, learn more about PTSA/PTA, access the web store and much more.
Need Help? Many of the most commonly asked questions can be found on our FAQs page (located in the upper right-hand corner of ParentConnection.) If you have further questions, please email the helpdesk at parentportal@northvilleschools.org

FREE Breakfast and Lunch for all students!
This school year, Northville Public Schools will be providing free breakfast and lunch meals to all pre-K through grade 12 NPS students, regardless of free or reduced lunch availability. Funding for the Michigan School Meals Program was included in the 2023-24 School Aid Bill approved by the state legislature. Under this program students can receive free breakfast and lunch meals each full school day. In addition to these free meals, students may purchase a second breakfast or lunch meal, snack items or a separate carton of milk, as desired.
In order to operate the program successfully, we are actively seeking additional Food Service staff members to work in our kitchens. If you or someone you know are interested in joining the Food Service team, please contact our Food Service department at 248-344-3690.
If you have any questions about the Michigan School Meals Program, please contact our Food Service department at 248-344-3690.
