The Wildcat Week Ahead
September 24 - September 29

Hey Wildcats!
We have jumped right into November and have a very busy month! First, thank you to everyone who attended our Celebration of Learning at Camp Abnaki on Friday. It was a packed house! Seeing the kids, hearing them share their favorite memories, and the YMCA dancing ended the week on a high note.
On a sad note, Ms. Pam is quite ill, and you likely won't see her in the office for a while. If you would like to send her a card, please deliver it to school, and we will send one big package when she's home from the hospital. Ms. Pam is a longtime member of our learning community, and we want her to improve as soon as possible. She is OK with people knowing she's ill; we don't have many answers right now. Her absence will make emailing wildcats@gisu.org critical for me. I will only sometimes be able to sit at the desk and answer the phone, so emailing will be the easiest way to reach me. You can also call the nurse's extension. Thanks for your help with this.
Cold weather is officially upon us, and ensuring kids have the gear they need for recess is essential. We always have extra clothes and gloves, but hats and boots are less prevalent.
This week, we have our family book club gathering on Tuesday. The book club will only be for K-3 students, as the upper-grade books still need to be delivered. We will have another book club during trimester 2, so 4-6 will join. Also, our 50-book challenge opens this week! In the lobby, starting Monday afternoon, families will be able to check out a book bag. Each bag has five books in it. Check out the book bag, read the books at home, check off that you read the books, and continue until you have all 50 read! Kids who read the 50 books will earn a certificate at the end. There will be a QR code for signing books out and a book checklist on the rolling stand.
As more families put information into the school directory form, linked below, I update our Google Sheet. Here is an updated link to our GIS Directory.
Our Little Caesars Fundraiser is off to a great start; we've raised $228! There is one week left to order. If you want to share the link with family and friends, please send them here: Pizza Kit Ordering. Our fundraiser ID is 433290. Our order will be placed on November 12 and arrive at school the week after Thanksgiving.
Be sure to check out our Dates to Remember; we have some fun things in there!
As always, my door and inbox are always open,
Mrs. H

These were mailed last week.
