The Rebel Crier
December 22, 2023
Happy Holidays!
What an exciting year 2023 has been for New Fairfield High School!
We opened up our incredible new school, which is not only beautiful, but has provided facilities that are moving learning forward at NFHS. The entire staff of teachers, custodians, secretaries, paraprofessionals and administrators did an amazing job of transitioning to our new home while not missing a beat with our students. So many people worked so hard, but a special holiday shout-out goes to Mr. Jim Hunt, our head custodian, and his team for making sure the new school was ready for the arrival of staff and students, and who have done outstanding work to maintain our new building. Jim and his team have helped us all navigate the inevitable bumps in the road that come with a move as big as this, and do it with smiles, patience, and professionalism.
The best part of the school year has been seeing the energy and new life that our student have brought to the school. Inspired performances by our musicians and thespians in the gorgeous new theater, the rejuvenation of our business program driven by the Rebel Supplier store, the impromptu dances on the gathering stair at lunch, the collaboration taking place in the booths and on the walls of our learning neighborhoods, and the spirit of connectedness fostered by ceremonies and community conversations in the dining commons are just a handful of examples illustrating how our town's investment in students is already paying off! Our students have us all excited thinking about what 2024 and beyond will have in store for our school!
Everyone here at NFHS wishes you and your families a safe, restful, and happy holiday season.
