My Digital Gift
One more thing that has been taken from us in the Covid era is the staff holiday party. Do you miss the gift-giving, social interaction and pot-lucks of the good ol' days? Well, I do. In lieu of a traditional gift, here is my digital gift, all wrapped up with smore.com with a little help from YouTube.
I have started a couple playlists with original content. "Give Me Five" videos are for teachers, with examples and mini-how-to's I feel can help student engagement. This ongoing webinar playlist can be found by the following address: bit.ly/3gOO5SL.
Also, the student-focused "Wonders of the World Wide Web" (WoWWW) is on YouTube at: https://youtu.be/2ouUXkAVlDs . WoWWW explores internet resources I think promote exploration, that students could try out today. My focus is TK-8th grade and the developmental appropriateness will vary by the resource.
A Gift for Families
Teaching English Learners through the Arts (TELA)
Kimberli Breen is a National Consultant from Affecting Behavior Change, Inc. Her latest webinar is on "Family Support." The video provides Seven SEL Strategies to be used in the classroom or at home, especially as we go into Winter break. Help with "quality of life" at-home issues and improvements to "emotional vocabulary." Original post in LACOE/CDOL/TEAL newsletter MorSEL.
