The fall assessment window is closing and students have been assessed in both reading and math to determine their current grade level baseline score. These assessments help your child's teacher and our school's team make important decisions about how to best support your child's learning. Teachers and other school staff have met and analyzed the reading data to form small groups for targeted learning during WIN (What I Need )time . Some grade levels are also using some of the WIN time to target math because student data shows a need.
If your child's data showed that they need extra reading support at their grade level, you will receive an information letter, class communication, and be invited to a family meeting on October 5th. This plan is called an IRIP and supports reading in grades K-3rd. Families will only receive the IRIP letter in grades 1st-3rd for the fall assessments.
