Searcy Students Named Award Winners at Region 8 History Day
Congratulations to Searcy High School and Ahlf Junior High School students for earning ribbons in the Region 8 History Day competition! These students will advance to the state contest in Conway in April.

Jr. High Quiz Bowl Wins 5
Congratulations to the Jr. High Quiz Bowl team under the direction of Chance George for winning five games and placing second in the Jr. High finals. Milas Javellana was named an All-Tournament team member.
Battle of the Books
Searcy teams from McRae and Sidney Deener Elementary participated in the 1st Battle of the Books competition at the Wilbur D Mills Education Service Cooperative. The competition ended in a Searcy vs Searcy showdown with Sidney Deener taking 2nd place and McRae taking 1st place!
Kindergarten STEAM Day
Searcy kindergartens participated in STEAM Day this month. Students learn through hands-on educational experiences.

SHS Robotics Team Competes
The Searcy High Robotics team (9067 The Goonies) competed in the Arkansas Robotics Competition. They competed against 29 other high school teams from eight different states. The Goonies were the first pick of the No. 8 Alliance competing with 3284 Laser from Camdenton, MO and 2393 Robotichauns from Knoxville, TN where they advanced to the semifinals before being eliminated. The Goonies won the “Rookie All Star” and the “Highest Rookie Seed” awards.

Southwest Middle School students spent a fun and educational day at Harding University during the FIRST robotics competition and Tinkerfest.

EAST Students Prepare for State Conference
Students in the SHS and AJHS EAST programs present their projects to school administrators and teachers in order to prepare for the state conference in Hot Springs. EAST students are improving the community where they live through creative and meaninful projects.
