California Assessments of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP)
Every year, California students take several statewide tests. When combined with other measures such as grades, class work, and teacher observations, these tests give families and teachers a more complete picture of their childโs learning. You can use the results to identify where your child is doing well and where they might need more support.
Your child may be taking one or more of the following California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP), English Language Pro๏ฌciency Assessments for California (ELPAC), and Physical Fitness Test assessments. Pursuant to California Education Code Section 60615, parents/guardians may annually submit to the school a written request to excuse their child from any or all of the CAASPP assessments. This exemption does not exist for the ELPAC or Physical Fitness Test.

School Messenger Text Message
Parents and Guardians You can take advantage of our Text Messaging Service
Our school utilizes the SchoolMessenger system to deliver text messages, straight to your mobile phone with important information about events, school closings, safety alerts and more.
You can participate in this free service* just by sending a text message of "Y" or "Yes" to our school's short code number, 67587.
You can also opt out of these messages at any time by simply replying to one of our messages with "Stop".
We recommend saving this short code and Caller ID to the contacts on your phone. This will help prevent any 3rd party call blocking systems from interfering with your receipt of important messages sent by the school or district.

Guarantee of Free Public Education
Section 5 of Article IX of the State of California Constitution guarantees students a โfree public education.โ The State Supreme Court concluded in the 1984 case of Hartzell v. Connell, โthat all educational activities carried on by public school districts, extra-curricular as well as curricula, must be without cost to the students who participate in such activities.โ This same ruling found that โmandatory fees for participating in such extra-curricular activities as drama, music, and athletic competition were illegal under the State Constitution.โ Furthermore, they also rejected the argument that โfees could be charged so long as the district waived fees for students who were financially unable to pay.โ Recent proposed legislation includes reimbursement with interest for any illegally-collected fees as well as a district sanction.
