Dear Sequoia Families,

I hope this newsletter finds you all safe and getting settled. We know that these days around the anniversary of the 2017 fires are particularly challenging, especially given our most recent fire event. Please know that the Sequoia staff and community are here to support you. Many families were able to fill out the Glass Fire check-in survey last week, but I understand that not everyone had the ability to do that for various reasons. If your family is in need of housing, emotional, or any other type of support please email me or your child's teacher directly. You can also call our office at 707-539-3410.

While this is another challenging time for all of us, I do have some good news to share with our Sequoia community. Our very own Mrs. Martling is being recognized as the Rincon Valley Union School District Employee of the Month for October! Mrs. Martling is thoughtful about her teaching practice, focused on building community in her classroom, and a wonderful addition to our staff. I am excited to celebrate her this month and at our next district board meeting. If you would like to support Mrs. Martling, you can join the board meeting zoom on October 19th at 6:00pm. The zoom link will be posted on the RVUSD website. Congratulations to Mrs. Martling!

As a reminder, our normal school schedule will resume next Monday and the next folder pick up/drop off day will be next Thursday. Please be in touch with any questions.
