Administrator's Update

Hello ÉCKS School Community,

It's great to connect with you again!

In an announcement on May 19, 2021, Education Minister Adriana LaGrange and Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deanna Hinshaw confirmed that Alberta students and teachers will return to in-person classes on Tuesday, May 25. We can't thank our school community enough for their support and understanding over these past few weeks. We are excited to welcome our students back to school on Tuesday.

The goal of our school is to provide a safe and welcoming school environment. This includes the provision of enhanced health measures to support safe in-class learning. We follow all of the COVID-19 guidance and health measures for K-12 schools provided by the Government of Alberta. The provincial school re-entry plan contains many layers of safety which include strategies that work together to create the safest environment possible within the school community.

With the return to school comes the responsibility for everyone to complete the Daily COVID 19 Checklist. Thanks for helping ensure our schools and communities stay well.

Chromebook Use for Remote Learning

If you rented a Chromebook from the school and returning to in-person learning, please make sure to have your child return the device, including the cord, back to the office when we return on Tuesday, May 25, 2021.

Planning for the 2021-2022 School Year

We continue to plan for the upcoming school year. In the next few weeks, we will finalize our staffing and course offerings. At that point, we will gather information from our current Grade 6 and Grade 7 students around their choice of complimentary classes (options).

School Photos - Retake Day

For anyone who missed the original School Photo Day on March 19 or anyone who is interested in retakes, we have rescheduled Smart Photography for the morning of May 28, 2021.

If you are an At Home Learner and wish to come in for pictures, please connect with the school by May 27, 2021.
