Hello Families of Longmont Estates Elementary School! We are so excited to bring the St Vrain Mobile Lab to our school, Friday, February 26th. The Mobile Lab is hosting the Design Guild for Students, an opportunity for our students and families to engage in STEM practices, the design thinking process, and hands-on fun. Here’s how it works: Bring your child/ren to school on Friday, February 26th between 9:00-11:00am. Visit the Mobile Lab in the Hug and Go Lane to enjoy STEM Stations and receive a Design Challenge Workshop to do at home.

• First 100 LEES students receive a Design Kit filled with fun prototyping materials

• Children must be accompanied by an adult

• Mask wearing, social distancing and other safety measures will be implemented. Please be prepared to follow these protocols.

Although Valentine's Day does not fall on a school day, we would still like the students to have the opportunity to participate in a classroom celebration. Students will be able to bring valentines this year using the following guidelines:

• Students may only give valentines to students in their classroom cohort.
• The teacher needs to pass out all valentines.
• Students will be asked to wash their hands after handling valentines.

Teachers will be providing more details about the plans for their classrooms.

Hello! Our K-2 students have been coding masters for the past three weeks! A shout out to 2nd graders: Zane, Andi, Javier, Cutter, Kody, Adelais, Evan, Sam, Ian, Luna, and Max; 1st graders: Ryker, Cleo, Caroline, Ella, Shiloh, Easton, Madison, and Mitchell; and our kindergartners: Norah, Dmitryi, Kalista, and Mirabelle for doing an amazing job with their puzzles in Code.org! They are SuperStar Coders and have really shown initiative and perseverance when it comes to doing hard things!

After next week, we will switch again to 3-5th graders having STEM, and our K-2 students will have library. I look forward to incorporating some of our classroom robots into our programming as we build up our skills.

One of our favorite events of the year is the Tribute to Teachers award celebration sponsored by St. Vrain Valley Schools Education Foundation. We love it because it recognizes and honors our outstanding teachers for their excellence in teaching.

Please help by nominating a teacher who you believe exemplifies excellence for a Teacher of the Year Award. Early Access was created to meet the needs of a very few highly advanced gifted children who are academically, socially, and emotionally ready for Kindergarten or First grade.
