Caldwell School District Update
From Superintendent Dr. N. Shalene French
June 19, 2023
Message from the Superintendent
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Have you ever considered what visitors might encounter as they enter our city: the Canyon County Fair Grounds where youth showcase their talents, the beautiful campus of the College of Idaho, and Brothers Field soccer complex adjacent to the YMCA and Caldwell High School. This visual commitment to our youth has not occurred by chance. We want to take this opportunity to thank the City of Caldwell and our community partners for their continued commitment to the youth of Caldwell.
We understand the critical role that a positive and encouraging environment can play in a child’s development. The Caldwell School District is committed to working together with our families, the City, and our community partners to ensure all young people have the support they need to reach their full potential.
Again, we are grateful for the visionary leadership of our community leaders. Their foresight continues to bring our community together to create a great place for our children and their families to live, grow, and become.
Dr. N. Shalene French
Advanced Opportunity Summer School
Advanced Opportunity Summer School is ideal for those students who want personalized learning with the flexibility to work independently.
College and Career experiences are also offered during the Advanced Opportunities Summer School. These experiences include college visits, guest speakers, and personalized counseling for post-high school planning.
Math and Science Summer Institute
The Math and Science Summer Institute (MASSI) program at the College of Idaho has successfully concluded another empowering year. This is the 12th annual collaboration with Syringa Middle School, Jefferson Middle School, and the College of Idaho.
MASSI provides math and science enrichment for seventh and eighth grade students, incorporating scientific experiences to ignite their curiosity. This year, students spent a week on campus, engaging with professors, conducting research, and enjoying the college environment.
We are grateful to the College of Idaho for their unwavering support. Together, we inspire young minds to excel in math, science, and beyond. We look forward to the future of this impactful journey.
