Welcome back!!!!

During the 2021-2022 school year, every student in grades PreK - 12 will receive a Chromebook to provided by the school district to take home for learning.They are expected to bring their Chromebooks each day fully charged and ready for each class.

All families may choose to have a Protection Plan for their Chromebook to help cover costs if the device is accidentally broken or damaged. The cost of the Protection Plan is $30 annually per device and is nonrefundable. While there is no cost for the use of the Chromebook, it is imperative that the Chromebook the student is issued be maintained and handled in a responsible way. If the Protection Plan is not taken, your child will be responsible for the cost to repair the Chromebook. The Protection Plan safeguards you against accidental damage, such as unintentional liquid spills, drops, falls and/or other collisions. The plan covers the student’s for one time repair of the device, students have the option to purchase the insurance again after it has been used for repair.

The protection program does not cover misuse, neglect, intentional damage or lost chargers and lost Chromebook. Students/parents/guardians will be responsible for the entire cost of repairs or replacement to computing devices damaged through student misuse, neglect, intentional damage or loss. We highly recommend parents take advantage of this opportunity. To sign up for the protection plan parents can send a check or Money Order (made payable to the Florence Board of Education) in an envelope with your student’s name. You may mail payments to your child's school with "Chromebook Insurance" marked on the envelope.
