Students in Mrs. Lindeen’s class were nominated by Mrs. Ottaviano’s class for walking quietly in the hallway for the entire walk back to class and not disturbing others. We did a prize drop and students earned hat day! Salt Creek students are awesome!

Students turned in 6 pounds of pride slips. We gathered to spin the Pride Wheel and students

earned snacks and board games. Students brought in their favorite board game on Friday,

9/23 to play in their classroom. So proud of our Swartz Little Vikings!

Mrs. Schellhorn is EXTRAORDINARY!! She goes above and beyond to create a safe and engaging workspace for each of the children she works with. She jumps in whenever there is a need. She has such a welcoming approach that is calming and the students absolutely love her! We are blessed to have Mrs. Schellhorn at Salt Creek School!

Our administrative assistants go the extra mile to ensure that all students and staff are welcomed back for another terrific school year. We thank them for their wonderful work and amazing attitude displayed as they prepare for the new school year. You all are truly amazing!

This Monday, September 26th we will be having our first library dog visit. Our Kindergarten and 1st graders will get the chance to read to a trained therapy dog. This will be a monthly event and is always a favorite for students and staff at Salt Creek.

We are so lucky again this year! All of our students Preschool - 4th grade will be getting a monthly book to add to their library at home. A big thanks to Mrs. Lindeen for securing sponsors for this worthy cause.

If your child is home because they tested positive from COVID19, we will contact you for remote instruction for the time that they are home. Students will be able to sign on remotely with their teacher for classes, such as ELA, math, science and social studies. If your child is unwell, please do not have them remote in to instruction. They need to rest and relax so they can return to in-person learning. If your child is not coming to school for non-COVID19 related reasons, they will not be able to remote in for instruction. Non-COVID19 related reasons include, but are not limited to, stomachache, tired, mild headache, runny nose, etc.

Reminder: If your child has been fully vaccinated, please email a photo of your child's vaccination card to the school nurse at verickson@saltcreek48.org or upload it directly to Skyward. This information will be kept in their confidential health file. Thank you for your continued help in preventing the spread of the virus.

Parents please take a moment to sign on to your Skyward account to check your child's food balance account. It is helpful to check this weekly or every other week depending on how often your child eats breakfast or hot lunch at school. This will make you aware of where the balance is at so it can be manageable throughout the school year. No one wants to see a surprise balance on their child's account!

If you pick up your child at Salt Creek or Swartz, please put the car pick up sign in your car window everyday!

Salt Creek District 48 is always looking for wonderful substitute educators for our teaching positions, teaching assistants, and lunchroom supervisors.
