Counseling with Ms. Katnik!
We have discussed a variety of important topics in Counseling this month! We talked about the importance of demonstrating good citizenship, the 5th graders wrote letters to their senior selves, and we covered the topic of careers (the different career paths that exist and the requirements for those career paths). Throughout this month, we also had the opportunity to review and practice the following mindfulness techniques in Counseling: 5-4-3-2-1 Grounding Technique, Deep Belly Breathing, and Rainbow Breathing. You can expand on what we have discussed in Counseling at home by having a conversation with your child about any of the topics we have covered and asking them to demonstrate and/or share with you how to do some of the mindfulness techniques we did together in class!
Blood drive at the Middle School!
