Happy New Year!
I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday and a Happy New year! This week the students have been back to their regular routines and procedures here at school. Our testing window for iReady (ELA and Math) is now open, and all students in grades K-2 will be taking their 2nd diagnostic test in the next few weeks. These tests measure multiple skills for both subject areas, monitors and tracks progress and growth, and provides specific areas of strengths as well as areas where improvement may be needed. This information helps your child's teachers to plan instruction that meets their individual needs. Please take a few moments and talk to your child about iReady, and join us in cheering them on! All students will sign their name next week to an iReady banner where they pledge to try their best! Thank you all for all of your continued support and encouragement for your children. The home-school relationship is so important, and that strong foundation is built during these early years. Here are a few questions you can use to encourage your children to participate in meaningful discussions about their days at school:
- What was your favorite center today?
- What did you write about during writing?
- What tools did you use during math today?
- Who did you play with at recess?
- What was something that you felt really good about today?
