SOCIAL STUDIES STANDARDS ARE CURRENTLY BEING REVIEWED AND REVISED
In accordance with Minnesota Statutes, Minnesota’s academic standards are reviewed and revised on a 10-year cycle. During the 2020-21 school year, the process of reviewing and revising the Minnesota K-12 Academic Standards in Social Studies began.
There is an opportunity for public comment on Minnesota's new Social Studies standards- more information can be found at https://education.mn.gov/mde/dse/stds/soc/. The initial public comment period in the statutory rulemaking process started Monday, November 15, 2021 and will run for 60 days, closing on Friday, January 14, 2022.
A NOTE FROM THE HEALTH OFFICE
Students and their siblings NEED to stay home pending covid tests if they are having symptoms.
If your child is ill, PLEASE keep them home and monitor their symptoms. We have been seeing an uptick in COVID cases, symptoms have ranged from a runny nose, headache, cold-like symptoms to absolutely nothing.
If your child tests positive, please let us know. It is very important to quarantine and stop the spread. I highly encourage all High School parents to order a vault test and test your student. If no symptoms, students do not need to stay home pending test results.
MPS now has rapid covid testing for students.
- BinaxNow at home testing
- available to send home with all students district wide, parents will need to request a kit, we will not be sending them home without parental request. Kits are available at both schools.
- CURRENTLY IT IS ONLY for STUDENTS
- There are directions within the box, below is a great video showing step by step directions!
- Call or stop by the health office if you are interested in getting one.
Did you know you can order free saliva tests at home? Click on the link below to order a PCR saliva test, it will be sent directly to your home, and you will complete it over a zoom call. Make sure you haven't eaten or drank 30 minutes prior to completing the test. We have two UPS drop-off sites in Mora. One is located in the Oak Gallery & Frame Shop on Union Street, and the other is a UPS drop box on Forrest Ave across the street (north) of the vacant lot kitty-corner from the Federated Co-ops gas station. These are available for students and adults.
