Message from Mr. Imbusch
Dear students, staff, and parents/guardians:
”In like a lion, out like a lamb”. This proverb refers to the month of March. However, given the storm that passed through here Wednesday night, I think the Leap Year threw this off by one day!
March 5 is the scheduled date for Progress Reports. Please keep an eye out for these to be published to your X2 Aspen accounts next week.
Also, on Thursday, March 7, we will host our annual 8th Grade Curriculum Night. This is for the parents of 8th Grade students who will be attending the high school in September. Please see more information here.
Lastly, I want to introduce you to what we are calling “Processing Time”. Every other week, during the last half hour of the Wednesday Intervention block, students are invited to come to room 2118 to discuss local, national, and international issues that may be affecting or of interest to them. After two trial meetings in February, we are happy to continue to offer this space for students for the rest of the school year. Meeting dates will be announced during the morning announcements.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Sincerely,
Stephen Imbusch
Principal
Love, Inclusion, and Trust (L.I.T)
Greetings Parents & Students!
I am excited to offer the LIT ( Love, Inclusion and Trust) program, a series of workshops and discussions for middle and high school students that aim to highlight identity development, student leadership, build self-confidence, and provide advocacy skills. Because this is being offered to both Boston and resident students, our goal is to provide them with a safe space to build relationships amongst their peers as we continue to strengthen the Walpole School Community.
The LIT program for young scholars is presented by Jamele Adams. Scholars of middle and high school levels will engage in workshops and discussions that build self-esteem and community pride. This program will be held at the designated middle school from 2:35-3:30 pm and at the high school from 2:10-3:00 pm on the days listed below.
This Google Form can be used by high school students to sign up.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
Dates of the program:
March 11th - Bird MS
March 12th - Johnson MS
March 18th - Walpole High School

News from the World Language Department March 2024
The World Language Department is offering students the opportunity to earn the Massachusetts Seal of Biliteracy. The Seal of Biliteracy is an award given by a school
or district in recognition of students who have attained proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in two or more languages by high school graduation.
The Seal is awarded at two proficiency levels and can be used to communicate with academic institutions, employers, and the community that students are able to study, work, and engage with others in two or more languages. Students who meet the criteria for the Seal of Biliteracy will receive an insignia provided by the Department of Education to be affixed to their high school transcript. An application is available for juniors with testing dates in April. Interested students can talk to their World Language teacher or see Ms. Kay (room 1321 inside the language lab) to receive an application.
WHS Work Study Program
The Work Study Program will be hosting an Information Night on Thursday, March 14th at 6PM in the WHS Auditorium. Parents/guardians, students, or anyone interested in learning more about the program are welcome to attend!
