We will have one more newsletter at the end of the school year to wrap up the year and give important information to the students who will be returning to us for the 2024-25 school year.

We are very blessed at FMS to have THE BEST teaching staff around. Thank you to all of them during this week and every week!

It is almost time for our field trip to Dow Diamond on Tuesday, May 7. A couple of pieces of information before we go:

• The ballpark will offer concessions and limited retail. They will be accepting cash on School Kids Days only and will lower pricing to an even dollar amount to speed things up at the stands.
• Please fill out this form if your student will require a school lunch on that date. We know that many students will opt to purchase from the concession stand but we will have free lunch available to students who would like it on that day. You must request a lunch for your student by Friday, May 3. Dow Diamond Lunch Request
  
• Students who have opted to not to attend this field trip will have a substitute teacher for the day. If your student is going to stay home from school on this date, they still need to be excused from school just like a normal school day.

We sent out an email on April 18 to all of our FCSD 6th, 7th and 8th grade families to let them know of a fabulous field trip opportunity for our students which comes at absolutely no charge to our district or to our families.

The Saginaw Spirit is hosting this year's Memorial Cup and have invited middle schools in the area to join in a day-long learning experience on May 29, 2024.

Here is the link to the Permission Form. It explains the event, including a part of the program that includes a mental health discussion/presentation. We ask that every parent fill out this form by May 3, 2024 whether your student will be attending or not so that we can plan for our large group. Memorial Cup Field Trip Permission Slip

On Thursday, May 9 we will be hosting a dinner for all of our students who were selected as Student of the Month for the 2023-24 School Year. These students should have received an invitation in the mail with information regarding this event. • Please use our website to find the Daily Announcements, Absent Work, and many other items throughout the school year. We will continue to improve the content that is found on the website each month.

• Please follow Freeland Community School District on Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter) for information and fun posts about our students and staff throughout the year. If you are not a social media fan, the same information will be found on our website in the live feed.

• Use Skyward for keeping track of your student’s grades, attendance, etc.

FMS is still selling Falcon clog charms to support our SOAR program. They can be purchased in the middle school office and the cost is $5 a charm.

Our Student Leadership Class sells spirit wear throughout the entire school year. The clothing is not specific to the middle school and all proceeds go to Student Leadership to support fun activities at FMS for all of our students.
