End of 3rd Marking Period
Wednesday, March 27th was the end of the third marking period. As a result, teachers will be finalizing report card grades and comments which will be posted live on your child's Synergy Account via the ParentVue website on Monday, April 8th.
If you are unable to access your child's ParentVue account, please reach out to our office staff as this platform is a good link for remaining up-to-date related to academic progress. Most importantly, it is the format by which you will be able to view your child's 3rd Marking Period Report Card.
If you have questions regarding your child's academic and social/emotional progress, the end of the marking period is a good time to reach out and request information from their teacher. Doing so would help support your child's success along with creating goals for them to achieve throughout the rest of the school year.
PBIS Attendance Prize Cart
Regular school attendance, arriving on time, and completing a full school day is critically important for students to achieve academic and social/emotional success. As a reminder, students should be in the building by 7:45am as arriving at 7:50am does not provide enough time to walk to class and prepare for learning to begin promptly.
Through an initiative created by our PBIS committee, students will now have the opportunity to spend some of the B-Bucks they earn on prizes to reward good attendance. In the coming weeks, students with no unexcused absences from the previous month will be permitted to visit the Attendance Prize Cart to purchase items with their B-Bucks. Students with excused absences such as parent/doctor notes will not be disqualified from participating. Therefore, it is important to remember to communicate in writing with our front office staff regarding student absences.
We look forward to this initiative rewarding students who consistently have great attendance while inspiring others to set goals for improvement.
Solar Eclipse
Due to the solar eclipse forecasted in our region, Monday, April 8th will be a 2 & 1/2 hour early dismissal. As part of the school day, students will engage in a lesson activity provided by the WCPS Science Department regarding facts and safety tips about the eclipse. We look forward to this learning opportunity and perhaps once in a life time situation for our students to discover. Volunteer Opportunities
Thanks to the combined efforts of our PTA and school staff, parent volunteer opportunities continue through an electronic sign-up application process managed by the PTA. Slots for parents to complete jobs such as copying, cutting, sorting, laminating, designing bulletin boards, and facilitating the PBIS Attendance Prize cart are scheduled to take place on Wednesdays between 8:15am - 10:30am & 1:00pm - 2:20pm. Volunteers are required to sign in at the front office, complete tasks assigned in designated locations, and then sign back out of the building upon completion of assigned jobs.
Sign up information and access can be found on the PTA and Boonsboro Elementary School Facebook pages. Information will continue to be accessible on our social media outlets and other forms of communication throughout the remainder of the school year.
