The last day to order is April 30th. We are only accepting on-line orders. We will NOT have extras or a waiting list.

• Data lines and electrical wiring have been completed in the new building

• Fire alarm devices have been installed

• Restroom tiles have been installed

• During the next few weeks: removal of dirt, concrete pouring, completion of shade structure installation

Spring is the time of the school year when there seems to be an increase in behaviors in the classroom and on the playground. Please take some time to remind your child/children about continuing to follow the school behavior expectations, PAWS:

CAASPP testing began last week for our 3rd-6th grade students. This week, the students will be tested in Math. During the week of May 6, 5th-grade students will be tested in Science.

Here are a few things you can do to help your child be prepared for testing each day:

• Make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep

• Provide a nutritious breakfast

• Make sure that your child arrives to school on time

Who wants sandwiches? Who wants ice cream? Next week is the last Dine Out of the school year at Togo's/Baskin Robbins in La Crescenta on May 1. They will donate 20% of the proceeds (restaurant and voucher purchases) to Monte Vista. Please see attached flier.

Vouchers will be available for purchase. Sandwich vouchers are $9, and ice cream vouchers are $5. These are perfect treats for teachers, coaches, teams, and friends.

Save the date for Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week the week of May 6th. This week is dedicated to showing our appreciation of everything our amazing staff and faculty do for Monte Vista! Look out for information from your room reps and what we can all do collectively and individually to celebrate our pawsitively awesome teachers and staff!

This year’s theme is "Thank you for Being a Star."

Grab the whole family and come join us for our 2024 STEM Night! Like last year, this year we will be bringing more experiments and demonstrations to Monte Vista! There will be multiple booths to explore where you can learn STEM concepts, see some exciting demonstrations, and even do your own experiments! A raffle will be held at the end of the night with STEM related prizes.

Please submit all reimbursement forms and original receipts by Tuesday, May 21. The only exception is for any 6th grade related activities.
