Please check PowerSchool often to keep informed of you child's progress in each of his/her classes. If you need help logging in to PowerSchool, please contact the school.
We have been researching Math Programs for the last couple of years and have decided to go with Reveal Math by McGraw Hill. At this time we are seeking parent input in the new program before asking for Board approval. If you are interested in borrowing a student copy please email miguel.thompson@centerburgschools.org. I have a few copies of each grade K-5.

Call to Action! What if there was no PTO?!
As the school year wraps up, we would like to take a moment to remind you of the
invaluable role the PTO plays in enhancing the educational experience for our students
here at Centerburg Elementary. Your involvement and support are crucial in helping us
achieve our goals of creating an enriching environment for all students.
Unfortunately, the PTO is at risk of dissolution due to lack of members and participation.
There are rules and regulations in place which state that our PTO board must have a
minimum of 3 officers, President, Treasurer, and Secretary, in order to provide a system
of checks and balances. At the end of this school year our secretary will be moving out
of the elementary. With our monthly meeting attendance at an average of 5 attendees
per meeting, we are unable to successfully continue to function as an organization.
With that said, our next and final meeting of the school year will be held on Tuesday
5/14 at 7pm in the Elementary Teachers lounge. Traditionally this is when elections are
held for the following school year. This meeting would be a great opportunity to learn
more about the organization and what our current officers do and how you may be able
to help. If we are unable to find parents to fill our open positions for next year, we will
be unable to operate and we risk supplementing the educational enrichment of all our
students.
Here are just a few things the PTO has done over the years that would no longer be
provided to students and staff:
● Playground games, paint & equipment
● Field Trip requests
● Pottery Kiln for art classes
● Student of the Month Breakfasts and awards
● Student Recognition Awards such as ribbons and plaques
● AR (Accelerated Reader) Rewards including AR store, Lunch club, AR bash, end of year trip to Twist
and Shake
● BFF (Books For Fun) - 2 free NEW books per student each year
● BUG (Bringing Up Grades) Club ice cream sundae bar
● Teacher/Staff Spending Reimbursements up to $200 each
● Teacher Book Fair Spending
● Staff Appreciation Luncheon
● Teacher Grant Program - special requests in addition to the $200 reimbursement
● Secret Santa Shop
● Special treats on Field Day
● Special assemblies such as the Columbus Zoo, COSI, Magician, Super U challenge
● My Guy and I Dance
● Mother/Son Nerf Nights
● Author Visits
● Boo Hoo Breakfast for kindergarten parents
● Fundraising incentives like pizza parties and gaming truck
If you have any questions or would like to know how you can help, please don’t hesitate to
reach out to centerburgelem.pto@gmail.com and follow us on Facebook to keep up to date.
