Head Teacher's Message
A reminder from me that on Monday 18 March, we will be switching to a ‘whitelist’ approach for all online devices and platforms. This approach looks at what websites students can use - where students will only be able to access websites and domains pre-approved for use by curriculum leaders. All other sites, apps and domains will be deemed areas that students cannot use and will be blocked. We believe this approach will serve to further safeguard our students and prevent them from accessing inappropriate material whilst using the internet. For full details please read the email that was sent to you on 11 March.
We were delighted this week to welcome families to our first transition event for the September 2024 cohort. It was fantastic to have such a great turnout and to have the opportunity to personally welcome parents/carers and children to the RTS community. As always our student ambassadors did an absolutely sterling job with their school tours and demonstrating the haka to the children. It is such a privilege to see existing families joining us with another sibling and to make that child feel welcome on their own identity and not just as a sibling. Relationships between home and school are vital and these events are such a pleasure to host and I know that staff enjoy meeting families too.
Next week we have the exciting promise of the school production - Beauty and the Beast - and I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible over the three evenings (Tuesday 19, Wednesday 20 and Thursday 21 March). The production crew have worked tirelessly over the past few months and I know that they will do themselves, and you, proud.
Wishing you a relaxing weekend.
~Ms K Dooley | Head Teacher
Events around school

Beth and Orlando represented RTS at the regional finals of the Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge. They did not place in the competition, but both did an outstanding job! Congratulations to both of them, and everyone who entered.

Recently the Year 9 & 10 girl's football team played against Turing House coming away with a decisive win of 4-1.
The team had a brilliant game and dominated the play throughout. Goals came two a piece from Eloise and Anaya with a shoutout to Annabel for brilliant goalkeeping. The girls played so well together - congratulations to the rest of the team as well (Chloe, Megan, Lilly, Julia, Eva, Kat, Shreya, Ria and Holly).
Boy's Rugby
At the beginning of March a combined Year 9 & 10 boy's rugby team went to Orleans Park to take part in the annual rugby 7s tournament.
The boys did really well - having been drawn in a very tough group and taking every game into at least one score. We entered into the Bowl competition for the later stages.
The team played against Orleans Park B, Kew House School and Windsor Boys School.
Everyone did fantastic in the Bowl competition and our boys staged a last gasp try in the last minute against Windsor Boys School and scored to win the Bowl!
Team: Elliot E., Harry W., Joshua S., George N., Lleyton, Austin-Rae, Tom F., Caleb, Oli B., Tai-Rhys, Finley W., and Cassim.

Richmond Rugby - Easter Holiday Rugby Camps
Easter Holiday Rugby Camps. 2nd April – 5th April & 9th April – 11th April. Our camps run from 9 am - 3 pm for boys and girls aged 4 - 16. We accept all abilities from children who have never played before to children who have played through the years. We do not expect you to be a member of our club but someone who enjoys the outdoors and loves making new friends.
The camps offer fun, structured rugby-based sessions that help your child(ren) develop their fundamental movement skills, hand-eye coordination, and interactions with other kids. The children will learn how to kick, pass, ruck, tackle, and jackal safely. We aim to build strong foundations of the basics of rugby and to improve what has already been built.
We provided a unique experience where young people can challenge their abilities, learn new skills, set challenges for themselves, and achieve those challenges, improving their problem-solving and leadership skills. All while being in a safe and enjoyable environment.
Our coaches play the First team for the men's and women's teams of Richmond Rugby. Our coaches are DBS-checked and are all RFU level 2 qualified coaches. Please make sure your child brings appropriate outdoor clothes for all weather conditions and a packed lunch with a water bottle.
£35 for one day. £65 for two days. £90 for three days.
