Teachers, Staff, Parents, and Students,

This will mark the end of the 5th Six Weeks for RHISD. Administration, teachers and staff have been working diligently on ensuring our students are well prepared for the upcoming STAAR tests. STAAR Testing is as follows:

5th - 8th Grade Reading (April 16, 2024)

5th & 8th Grade Science (April 23, 2024)

8th Grade Social Studies (April 24, 2024)

5th -8th Grade Math & Algebra 1 (April 30, 2024)

Students must have their fully charged Chromebooks with them on a daily basis and even more importantly on testing days as all STAAR testing is accessed online. We kindly ask our parents of students invited to our Saturday Academies to ensure their students attend. Saturday Academies are from 9:00-12:30 with breakfast starting at 8:30 and lunch served at .12:00. Transportation is available and will be provided.

RHMS Cheer Tryouts were held a few weeks ago. The RHMS Cheer Squad for the 2024-2025 school year are front row (left to right): Leilah Trevino, Isabella Montoya, Kaylee Canales, Kaitlyn Padilla, Mayeli Hernandez, and Jazlyn Vasquez . The RHISD Board of Trustees recognized members of the RHMS Symphonic and Concert Bands for their phenomenal performances at the UIL Concert and Sight Reading Contest held a few weeks ago. Both bands received a Division 1 rating from all six judges. Both bands also received Sweepstakes. Special thanks to Ms. Diana Pena, Mr. Marc Montelongo, Mr. Boris Libson, and Mr. Juan Cantu for working with our students day in and day out!

The RHISD Board of Trustees recognized members of the RHMS Boys & Girls Choir for earning a 1st Division "Superior" Rating at the UIL Concert Evaluation held a few weeks ago. Congratulations to all our choir students and to Mr. Rolando Reyes, Director, for this great achievement and phenomenal performances!

RHMS Life Skills classes have been working hard on raising funds for a Field Trip to Morgan's Wonderland, a theme park in San Antonio, Texas that strives to bring together guests of all ages and all abilities through the power of inclusive play. The Knights of Columbus Council 2785 contributed $500 to help our students realize their goal! A huge thank you to the Knight of Columbus for their generous donation!

It's that time of the year again...TESTING SEASON!! 8th grade students are working hard and preparing for STAAR and TSIA2 testing in BIM class! TSIA2 is a college level placement exam that will allow students to take dual enrollment classes starting their Sophomore year in high school giving them the edge for post-secondary success. Keep up the great work, students, and best of luck on all your upcoming exams! You've got this!!!
