R.I.S.E Events at Pizitz!
In addition, our 6th and 7th grade students have the opportunity to wear pajamas on Friday to support the cause. They can bring $5 to donate during carpool on Friday morning to wear pajamas (that follow our dress code).

Spring Break!
Please note that the school will be closed for spring break next week, Monday, March 25 through Friday, March 29. Please enjoy this time with your families, and we will see the students back on Monday, April 1.

I am Vestavia Week
This morning, we are kicking off the I am Vestavia week with a multi-cultural assembly for all students. Students will see dance performances from a variety of cultures, hear speakers from current and previous PIzitz students, and play unique games played in countries represented in our school. We look forward to highlighting and celebrating our diverse backgrounds and cultures this week at Pizitz. Our peer helpers have been helpful in planning a few activities for students this week, along with providing decorations for different countries for themed meals in the cafeteria this week.
All families are welcome to join us at the kick-off festival tonight at VHHS from 5:30-7:30. Learn more about the week here.
STEM Camp at Pizitz

To register your child, please complete the form below and select only one session. Space is limited, selection will be performed via lottery. You will be notified if your child is selected. Registration will be open from March 13 - April 5.

Rising 7th Grader Athletics Parent Meeting
Is your child interested in playing sports at Pizitz next year? Please attend an athletics parent meeting on April 4th at 6:00 in the upper gym to learn more about athletics at Pizitz. During this meeting we will discuss the tryout process, opportunities in athletics, as well as how to complete paperwork for tryouts and much more. Track & Field Update
We have a special shout out and congrats to our Track & Field team for an INCREDIBLE meet at King of the Mountain on Tuesday of last week, taking home top 3 honors. Almost every athlete set a personal record for their events, with Wolfie Brown setting a King of the Mountain meet record. The following athletes placed in the top 3 in their events, winning top 3 medals and scoring for the team:
- Wolfie Brown - 1st in Pole Vault with a meet record vault of 10'9'
- Caleb Lawrence - 1st in Discus, 5th in High Jump, 6th in Shot Put
- Sofia Ye - 1st in Triple Jump, 6th in Long Jump
- Wynn Andrews - 2nd in the 1600m run, 2nd in the 800m run

Tennis Update
The tennis team finished out last week with a win of exhibition matches against Liberty Park in the Future Rebel Classic. The boys team beat Chelsea 9-0. This week they play Berry (and girls play Thompson) at home on Monday. With the last two matches away, Tuesday at Helena and Wednesday at Bragg-come cheer them on! Go Pirates!
Interested in SGA?
Are you interested in running for an SGA office? Informational meetings will be on Tuesday, 4/2 or Wednesday, 4/3 during 8th period. The meeting will be in Ms. Lushington's room, E-104. If you have any questions, email Ms. Lushington at lushingtonhm@vhcs.us.
Pizitz Volleyball Tryout
Any current 6th or 7th grader interested in trying out for the 2024 Pizitz volleyball team should join the Google Classroom (Code: y5rl6tr) for more information about the tryout process. Tryouts will take place May 6th, 8th, 9th, and 10th.

8th Graders and 8th Grade Parents: Do you have any pictures of you and your friends over the years at Pizitz? Mark your calendars now for the evening of May 17 to celebrate your time at Pizitz with your 8th grade friends and teachers.
Color Guard at VHHS
Are you an 8th grader interested in Color Guard at VHHS? No previous experience is required for auditions. You can learn more about pre-clinic opportunities and tryouts in the Google Classroom (code: HXCP4VH). There is an optional pre-clinic opportunity April 14 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Auditions and Clinic take place each date from 3:45-6:00 p.m. as follows:
- Clinic Week 1: April 23-26
- Clinic Week 2: April 29
- Audition: May 1 3:45-6:00
Clinic and tryouts will take place at the Freshman Campus front gym.
Pizitz Pirate Ambassador Tryouts
Any 6th or 7th grader interested in trying out for the 2024-25 Pizitz Pirate Ambassadors, should see the information in the tryout handout link here.
Interviews will be held Saturday, April 13th. In order to try out, all tryout materials must be turned in by Tuesday, March 19 at 3:00 p.m.- that's TOMORROW. No application will be taken after this time. There will be an OPTIONAL Ambassador Interview Clinic Thursday, April 4th in the library from 7:30-7:50 am. If you or your parents have questions, please contact Mrs. Farrar at farraral@vhcs.us.
VHHS Basketball Cheer
Basketball cheer clinic and tryouts will be held April 15th-18th for rising 9th graders! The tryout packet and registration form can be found in the Google Classroom (code: k6qwxth). The first step for rising 9th graders is due Friday, April 5th. Reach out to Ms. Harris (harrisb@vhcs.us) for any questions.
Girls Pursuing Engineering
Are you a 6th-8th grade girl? Do you have an interest in engineering? Auburn University Engineering is hosting an event called inspirHER. Students who attend will hear Auburn Engineering faculty, alumni, and students about the engineering field and how to pursue a career in engineering. For more information, click the link here.
Consider Joining Robotics!
We are so excited to be preparing for the 2024 - 2025 Robotics Season! How to apply for the Pizitz Robotics team:
- Read the information packet here.
- Parents are welcome to attend the informational meeting (not required, but strongly recommended) on March 5th at 5:15 PM in our Media Center
- Fill out the application by March 15th here. (On the student’s school device, they must login to their school google account. If a student is having trouble, please have them ask their teacher for help.)
- Ask 2 teachers to complete a recommendation form, you can give them a paper copy from the information packet or email them the information here.
- Team decisions will be emailed to all applicants by March 21st.
