This month we'll have a Fun Night on March 22nd. Please see all the information included in this month's newsletter and let me know if you have any questions.

Student Council is awarded $500 grant!
To obtain this grant student council needed to fill out an 8-question application. One question was to explain how we would allocate this $500 grant along with the plans to address the school problem (we chose negative behaviors, specifically bullying and fighting). Our plans are:
1. Purchase 4 suggestion boxes (1 per main hallway).
2. Hold an anti-bullying video (the cheesier, the better) competition. Gift Card prize incentives.
3. Hold an Anti-Bullying assembly (in April or May TBD) presented by the students for the students. With games included of course. We plan to reveal the winner of the video competition at the end of this.
4. Create or purchase fabric bracelets that spread the positive messages to be kind. The exact saying is TBD. With these bracelets, we hope to create more unity within the school.

MO Conservation Department "Day with Wildlife"
The Missouri Conservation Department recently provided our students a “Day with Wildlife” program. The students had many stations to visit to learn more about conservation agent duties, bears, beaver adaptations, waterfowl, fisheries/aquatic life, forests, natural history, insects and one of the department’s K9s which was on site. All of our science classes attended and the snakes received a lot of attention!
Black History Month Presentation
Mike Hartman and Truman State University students helped us celebrate Black History Month and talked with our students about building community at WMMS. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and supporting our students and staff!
Fun Night March 22nd
Our next Fun Night is Friday, March 22nd from 6 - 8 PM. Students will need at least 90% attendance overall or between January 4th - March 8th and no ISS/OSS between January 4th - March 22nd. If you have any questions please contact our Dean of Students, Mr. Brent Cook.
