Updates & Reminders:
It's going to be a December to remember at Hannum School! We are so excited for all that we have in store for this month for our students in terms of supporting their social, emotional, and academic learning. Please make sure you read through the information below in great detail. We have made some changes regarding attending our school concerts and with one just two weeks away, we want to make sure our families are all set to attend and complete the steps our EMRC Team felt were necessary in hosting such a large and festive event while ensuring the safety of our students and staff.
Winter Concerts
Our Winter Concerts are around the corner. Our students have been working hard to perform for their families and guests. We hope you will be planning to join us on Tuesday, December 19th. The concert will be begin promptly at 2:00pm. We are asking any guests who are planning to come to sign up on our link. We will be checking in all guests from this list prior to the concert beginning. Our doors will open at 1:30 to allow ample time to check in and get seated. We want to make sure that we have a list that accounts for all visitors that day. Here are the steps all guests should complete:
1. Fill out this form letting us know who will be coming to see your Hannum Bear Perform (all of your guests)
2. Parents/guardians should have their I.D.s scanned in our system prior to the 19th so that we can have your badges printed and ready for you at check in.
- In order to ensure a smooth visit to the school, please use THIS LINK to complete the pre-registration for Visitor Aware.
- Once pre-registered, you will be prompted to take a picture of yourself and answer the questions, including DL#. Once you do this they will be in the system. You will receive their QR code via text and email. This QR code is what you will use when checking into the school for a visit. We strongly encourage all parents to stop in the office to complete this step PRIOR to the concert. We will not be able to print everyone's badges in the 30 minute time prior to this event. (Those who have already completed this step and have had a badge printed previously should already be set.)
3. Any other guests who are not parents/guardians should bring their I.D.s in to the building. We are going to have a table in our vestibule for guests to check-in by the student's last name they are coming to see (A-L and M-Z). After checking in, guests may proceed to the gym to take in our show-stopping performances. We are strongly encouraging these guests to complete step two as well.
This concert typically runs about an hour long. We do ask that you plan to stay for the duration of the concert to limit the amount of distractions for our performers.
There will be no early dismissal. All students will be dismissed at their normal dismissal time at 3:20 at their normal dismissal doors.
Lastly, anyone who is not on our list ahead of time will have to wait until all other guests are checked in and admitted so please make sure you complete this steps by Monday, December 18th at 12:00pm.
**Please note: We are sending home a paper copy with this information as well. You only need to complete it one way. We just wanted to make sure all families received this information**
If you have any questions, please contact our front office.
Countdown to Winter Break Calendar 📅⛄❄️
Please join us in counting down the days to winter break by participating in some spirit day fun. Check out our countdown calendar below.
Media Center GRAND OPENING--SUCCESS ⭐📽️
Our Grand Opening Event was quite the success. Our Bears and their families had an award-winning time meeting author, Wendy Hornik, and listening to her read her story, Harriet Follows Her Heart. Additionally, students engaged in many other activities such as Flashlight Reading, Swat the Star, Reader's Theater, Bingo for Books, and more. Each of these activities were tied to our literacy focus. We will be having two other Title 1 Family Nights later this year which will focus on science and art and the other will be math and physical education. Once those dates are set, we will share that information with our families so they can save the date and join us. Check out pictures from our Red Carpet Reading Night below. A special thanks to our celebrity staff members who helped to make this night a memorable one.
