Leadership Message
What a gift is to be able to celebrate Catholic Education this week! We are so grateful for the hope our faith provides for our staff, students and their families through our Catholic schools. Each child that we are blessed to encounter in our Catholic schools helps reminds us of the God light in everyone and how blessed we are to be able to walk alongside each child. Thank-you for the trust you have placed in each of us, as Catholic Educators, to teach and care for your children.
Catholic Education Week is a special time for all of us to recognize and celebrate the publicly funded opportunity our Catholic schools have to enrich the lives of our children with a foundation of faith. Catholic schools and Catholic education are the definition of inclusive education, as the word Catholic literally means universal.
As we are reminded in today's Gospel, we are to love one another with the same love with which Jesus loved us, and with which the Father loved Him. In other words, we are to love with the love of God. A love that is unselfish; a love that looks outward toward the other; a love that understands others are made in the image and likeness of God, and so, should be loved, not used; cherished, not discarded; a love that asks what good can we give, rather than what good can we get. This is what our children have the gift of learning and living each day.
Together, with our parents and parish, we rejoice in the beauty of each child and the opportunity to bring our students to Jesus every day!
