ANOTHER GOLD MEDAL!!!
Bath Tech would like share some exciting news about a Bath Tech students' recent participation in the Skills USA competition held in Bangor on March 15th.
During the competition, Gwen Weaver showcased her culinary skills by creating a salad with an emulsified dressing, breaking down a chicken into eight parts, preparing a stock and soup from the chicken carcass, and crafting an entree with a starch and a vegetable - all within a tight 4-hour time frame. Although she wasn't initially among the top 3 finishers, there was an error in the scoring by the judges, leading to an incredible outcome. Gwen Weaver emerged as the State of Maine Champion in the Skills USA Culinary Competition earning a gold medal! Please join us in congratulating Gwen on this remarkable achievement. We are incredibly proud of her hard work and dedication.

MRE COMPETITION
Bath Tech is thankful for the Army National Guard and the opportunities it offers to our students. Sgt. Foss and his team came in this week and staged a MRE competition with our culinary classes. During the competition the students had 90 minutes and two MRE’s to create an entree, dessert and beverage. Each team proved that they had the necessary skills and wowed the judges with their creativity, their understanding of food science, and their dedication to making the best meal ever! Thanks for a fun day!
