Message from the Executive Director
Thank you to everyone who attended GLOBE’s Auction on Saturday evening at The Distillery of Modern Art in Chamblee, and also to those who took part in the online Silent Auction. I would like to convey my sincere thanks to our wonderful PTCC and volunteers for organizing such a fun and successful event! Scroll down to the PTCC section for more information.
Georgia Milestones testing will be taking place in April, for grades 3 though 8. Georgia Milestones is designed to provide students with critical information about their own achievement and readiness for their next level of learning. An introduction and schedule was included in last week's newsletter. Teachers will also be sending out a separate email with further details.
Finally, I would like to remind our GLOBE community that this coming Friday, March 29, is a normal school day. We look forward to welcoming our students back to campus on Monday, April 8, which will be an early release day due to the solar eclipse.
Have a fabulous spring break!
In Community,
Christi Elliott-Earby
Executive Director

Become a PTCC Officer
GLOBE's PTCC will elect new leaders for the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 school years in April 2024. Step up and nominate yourself to serve as an Officer.
If you are interested in running for the position of Co-Chair or Secretary for the PTCC, please email your name, position of interest and a summary (not to exceed 500 words) on why you would like to hold an officer position to the Executive Director, Christi Elliott-Earby, and to the PTCC Co-chairs. Please detail your past experience at GLOBE or other school leadership positions. Candidates will be evaluated based on why they are interested and prior parent involvement/volunteer experience. Deadline for nominations (including self nominations) is April 14, 2024. School-wide elections will be held April 24 - May 8, 2024. If you have any questions, feel free to email PTCC Officers.
PTCC Speaker Series: Video recording available - last day to watch today, March 27

If you were unable to join us live but would like to watch the recording, you can view it here through March 27. After viewing the recording of the presentation, we would be grateful if you would complete this form.
April Spirit Night Events
In April, we will have two Spirit Night events targeted at slightly different age ranges.
Code Ninjas
On Friday, April 5 from 5pm to 9pm, children ages 6+ can join other GLOBE students at Code Ninjas for a Parents' Night Out. Space is limited so sign up now.
Instructions: Click on 'Spirit Events', then find 'Game Night - The GLOBE Academy' and click 'Register Now'. Bring this flyer with you to 1520 Avenue Place, Suite B1-110 Atlanta, GA 30329.
The cost includes pizza, drinks, and supervised play. GLOBE PTCC will receive 15% of event sales, children will have a blast, and parents can enjoy a date night!
Hippo Hopp
On Thursday, April 18 from 3pm to 6pm, children 10 and under can join us at Hippo Hopp (1733 Briarwood Rd NE, STE C, Atlanta) to jump and play! Head there right after school or come later and grab an early dinner.
Parents must stay to supervise. Bring this flyer and GLOBE PTCC will receive 25% of event sales. Remember your socks!
Staff Appreciation Week at UC
UC Parents, we need your help! We want to show our wonderful GLOBE staff how much they mean to us during Staff Appreciation Week (May 6–10). If you’re interested in volunteering for this event, please email classpac.globeacademy@gmail.com.
Order from Minted
Do you have a high school graduate this spring? If you're ordering announcements, consider ordering from Minted, and use our promo code. You'll get 20% off your purchase price, and GLOBE PTCC will get a 15% donation. It's a WIN-WIN! When placing an order, simply enter FUNDRAISEGLOBE in the promo code box at checkout.
"Volunteer of the Month" Carpool Winners
Our volunteers of the month are Katrina Hefner and Nelly Ortiz. We hope you enjoy using the “Volunteer of the Month” carpool flag to skip the line this month of March.
Be sure to log your volunteer hours for a chance to win!
Lost and Found: Please label your items
Parent volunteers return labeled items to the owner's classroom. If your items are not labeled, they may never make it back home. Please take a moment to find a labeling solution that will work for you. Here are some ideas to get you started: Avery No-Iron Kids Clothing Labels, Sharpie Fabric Marker, and Mabel's Labels (customizable labels and stamps, dishwasher and laundry safe. Enter "The GLOBE Academy" in the "support a fundraiser" field, and they'll donate 20% back to GLOBE!).
Volunteer hours can help GLOBE receive grants
Did you know that when you volunteer, it can help GLOBE receive grants? Some donors want to know how involved the community is. We can show them that parents are invested in the school by sharing the volunteer hours we have tracked. So please remember to log your hours here. When you log your time, you'll also be entered in our drawing for a volunteer-of-the-month carpool flag. As a reminder, each family is requested to volunteer ten hours each year. To see current volunteer opportunities, click here. Thank you for volunteering at GLOBE.
Shopping can help GLOBE!
Did you know when you shop at places like Publix, Kroger, and OfficeMax/Office Depot, they will donate to GLOBE PTCC? To find out how to easily set this up, click here. Every penny counts!
