Changes to Daily Routines
As we navigate through the remainder of the school year, we would like to take a moment to remind you about the importance of communication regarding any changes in your child's end-of-day pick-up routine.
Ensuring the safety and well-being of our students is our utmost priority, and accurate information regarding pick-up arrangements plays a significant role in this endeavor. If there are any alterations to your child's regular pick-up routine, such as a different person picking them up or a change in transportation mode, please inform the school office as soon as possible.
Effective communication helps us facilitate a smooth and secure dismissal process, minimizing any potential confusion or delays. By keeping us informed of changes, you help us ensure that your child is safely released into the care of authorized individuals.
To notify us of any changes, please reach out to the school office either by phone at 989-642-5235 or via email at cone@hemlockps.com. We greatly appreciate your cooperation and assistance in this matter. Together, we can maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for all our students.
A friendly reminder...
It has come to our attention that there has been an increase in students bringing gaming consoles to school. We want to emphasize that gaming consoles are not permitted. We believe that such devices can detract from the learning environment and can be a distraction to our students.
Additionally, we would like to reiterate our policy regarding other electronic devices such as phones, tablets, and smartwatches. While we understand the necessity of these devices for communication and educational purposes, they must be kept in students' lockers during the school day. This ensures that students remain focused on their academic responsibilities and minimizes potential disruptions in the classroom.
Please take a moment to review these guidelines with your child to ensure their understanding and compliance. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a productive and positive learning environment for all students. Your partnership is invaluable in supporting the success and well-being of our students.

HEMLOCK PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH GAGGLE REACHOUT FOR 24/7 STUDENT CRISIS LINE
Hemlock Public School District, in its ongoing commitment to student welfare, is proud to announce a significant partnership with Gaggle ReachOut, launching a 24/7 crisis line dedicated to providing immediate support for students in need. This innovative service offers both a phone line and a chat feature, ensuring accessible, round-the-clock assistance.
The Gaggle ReachOut crisis line is more than just a helpline; it's a lifeline that fosters a personal connection—a crucial element often sought by today’s digitally savvy students. This service ensures that every student has access to a trained, caring professional ready to offer help in real-time at the very moment it's needed most.
"Our students live in a world where digital interaction is the norm, yet the yearning for a personal, human connection remains strong," said Matt Wesener, Board President of Hemlock Public School District. "Through our partnership with Gaggle ReachOut, we are meeting this need head-on, offering a service that combines the best of technology with the irreplaceable value of human empathy and understanding."
In addition to providing immediate assistance, this service allows the school district to stay informed about their students' challenges. Regular reports on the usage of the crisis line will enable the district to understand better and address the needs of its student body.
"The introduction of the Gaggle ReachOut student crisis line is a testament to our dedication to creating a supportive, empathetic, and responsive educational environment," said Don Killingbeck, Superintendent of Hemlock Public School District. "We believe in empowering our students with the resources they need to thrive academically and personally. This service is a significant step towards fulfilling that promise."
