Health Guidance for Going to School (Handout)
This handout has been adopted/adjusted to meet JCPS requirements to answer the questions, “When can I go to school?” and “When do I have to stay home?” Please feel free to share this document as you need to best meet the needs of your school community.
Reminders
Please remember that we will have quite a bit of testing taking place these last few weeks of school. Although we do not want to cause our students stress over testing, these tests are important as the help us with the following:
- Teacher Growth and Accountability
- Student Growth and Accountability
- Student Placement in Special Programs (Remediation and/or Acceleration)
- Funding for Resources
- Class Rosters
Please help us encourage students to do their best so that we can see how much they've grown and so that their teachers receive credit for the amazing work they've done this year.
ROSTERS
We will start working on Class Rosters soon. Please understand that we take this process very seriously. We have close to 800 individual students and 50 classroom teachers. Each of these individuals (students and adults) have their own personalities. When we create our rosters, we take the following into consideration:
- Student Academics
- Student Social/Emotional Needs
- Demographics (Race, Ethnicity, Gender, etc.)
- Special Programs (EC, MTSS, AIG, etc.)
Our overall goal with rostering is to make sure that each class is balanced according to the considerations listed above while also making sure that each child is with a teacher that can help him/her be successful. We will work with you in this process as much as we are able but will not be able to take teacher requests because we must look at this process at a school-wide level.
